KM/H AND HP (instead of KW)

Hi ! I would like to know if I’m the only one annoyed by the fact that I can’t have my speedometer in KM/H and see the car power in HP.
If I want to have the power in HP, the speedometer is in MPH.

Actually I have to convert the power of the car while upgrading it to see what its power is in HP.

Is it possible that in the future an option will be available to set it that way ?

V Peace.

Matt.

This has apparently been requested across multiple entries to the franchise and went unheard, which if true would be rather ridiculous since KPH/HP is a very common combination for everyday use across the globe.

I wonder in which country people use KW in everyday’s life to speak about a car/motorcycle/truck power …

We do in Australia.

Some people here can talk HP without problem, but KW is in all of our media.

Just like this commercial for example- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZeLJuNUR_c

as far as I know Aussies love KW.

But this is also a mystery to me. Why not let us select which units we want?
I use metric normally but when upgrading my car I have to switch to US units so I can see HP but then I can’t see speed i KPH. Very annoying!
I doubt it is a problem to implement so we can decide what’s what but for some reason it never happened …

No, you are not the only one. I think significant majority of players who uses KM/H would like to have also HP instead of KW. This issue is annoying me starting from FM4. If we make this thread really big maybe someone from T10 will read it. Let’s hope.

To be honest, I started this topic with the hope that some developper will read it and put this option in the future !

Now there is some wishful thinking. Be careful what you ask for, they might instead take away the ability to see the car’s power rating and speedometer.

To be fair… wasn’t this suggested after every release of every forza game so far? And yet… we still ask.
It would be a very welcome feature though! Doing the constant KW to HP math is hurting my brain.

I live in Canada and yes we use both the metric & imperial system, but even if I’m a student in mechanical engineering I totally hate to have the power output in kilowatt and Newton meters, so I use the american system with Miles per hour just for the horsepower & lb-ft of torque. Yes, since I play Forza since FM2 I understand pretty well the Mph/Kmh conversion, but still, I don’t think that adding Hp/lb-ft with KM-H would be game breaking.

+1, switching units constantly is extremely annoying

I’d like to see HP, somehow switching to imperial system (or default, cant remember exactly which other one it was) shows HP… but metric system does not, strange.

Why not show both. Shouldn’t be hard to multiply KW with 1.34…computers do that million times a second.

What gives? Can’t spend 2 minutes on it?

I ended printing a KW/HP conversion table for every 20 KW that I keep near me so I can quickly check the power of the car while upgrading it.

As others have said it isn’t that difficult to add the appropriate settings to show the units the user wants to see.

But why is the amount of HP so important to you?

Whenever I upgrade a car I either install all the upgrades or only some parts to reach the top of a certain class. In both cases it really doesn’t matter how much power the engine has.

It’s important to me because it’s the only way I can evaluate the performances of the car (with the weight) with numbers.
I want to quickly know the power/weight ratio.

And in Forza Horizon 3 the PI is very tire dependent. My car can be 400 HP and C class with stock tires, and A or S1 class with racing tires.

OK, you have your conversion table, but how do you quickly get the power/weight ratio? Do you use a calculator?

I don’t “calculate” it accuratly

I also drive with Km/h, but would love to see the HP when tuning the car. Always have a converter open on my phone while building a car, wich could be way more simple if we could just choose the units of choice. Just my 2 cents.
