I got a buddy who told me about this a year or so ago, so I’ve been following the game. I like it. I wish there was more street cars, but still a good looking game. Too bad the 360 and PS3 versions were cut. So… gotta find 500 bucks for the Xbox one…

You need to find about 1500-2000 for a PC to play what you’ve seen.
Can’t get more brutally honest than that.
It’s a gorgeous looking game. There’s still the question of physics though and how well it’ll play and look on console. I’m sure the footage they’ve been showing is the PC build of the game running in Ultra settings. Regardless, it’ll be nice to see what it’s like. Can’t wait.
I already have that PC, plus my Xbox One, so i’ll probably end up with both versions if it’s good enough. PC for serious eye candy and single player, and Xbox version for playing with my friends online as most of them only have basic PC’s for internet access. But like i said, only if it’s good enough. But so far it’s looking very pretty at the top end. Just remains to be seen how those cars handle.
I think my PC could handle it. Unless it should be a desktop, then I’m hosed.
Hopefully there is a demo for Xbox One before it releases. I refuse to pay that much for a PC, plus I enjoy gaming on console more these days anyway. I spent my childhood gaming on PC, and now I do work on the PC so I rather not spend more time on it than needed.

Exactly! It’s all riding on the physics for the game. If that’s there and it’s fairly close if not on par or better than Forza physics, then it’ll definitely being occupying my time a lot.

Of course they are going to demonstrate their product on good computers, just like the video game developers who developed the release games for Xbox One did. They are software developers, they use good computers.
Here are the Project Cars minimum specs;
CPU - 3.0GHz Dual-Core, 2.4GHz Quad-Core
GRAPHICS - nVidia 9600 GT 512Mb, ATI Radeon HD 4750 512Mb
MEMORY - 2Gb RAM (3Gb-4Gb recommended)
CONNECTION - Continuous Internet
Of course we all know that the posted minimum specs aren’t going to run the game very well, but if you have a decent PC with a CPU that meets the game’s requirements, all you may need to do is upgrade your video card and perhaps add some memory. If you’re buying a PC just to play the game, it probably isn’t worth it. If you already have a decent PC, upgrading it will extend the useful life of the computer and allow you to play current video games. If you have a crappy computer, or no computer at all and all you want to do is play games, then a game console may be the way to go, especially if you currently have a console and a big screen TV.
The Project Cars game is still in development, when it is openly released to a wide range of computing hardware, they will be able to update and improve the software. It is possible to make these types of programs run better on lower powered computers by lessening the load on the CPU by using uncompressed audio, albeit needing a bit more storage for a larger file size game. Slightly Mad Studios is a small company, they may not have the massive resources of a big corporation, but they can move a lot quicker.
My five year old computer exceeds the minimum game requirements for Project Cars. I may need a better video card to run the game at full spec, but I can do that for a couple hundred bucks, max. An important consideration for me is the way I am treated as a customer. If the game plays well and the Project Cars project will listen to their customers and provide support and good customer service, I may give them a shot. The corporate approach of “if you don’t like what we sold you, tough luck, goodbye, we already have your money” is not really attractive to me.
