I saw in the week in Review article that there is a rival against Josef Newgarden. They also did not give his Gamer Tag so I can chase his time. Anyone know what it is?
It’s In the feature events section in rivals and it is at Road America in the #2 Chevy IndyCar. I will probably not be able to beat it but will no doubt try.
I beat Juan Pablo Montoya when they used to do the rival challenges in older Forzas where you had to beat celebrity players times for a prize ( unicorn car ) very happy to see this back!!!

Change your title to “Josef Newgarden rivals event” so people dnt think this is about the lack of rivals leaderboards…Im interested in your question too! lol

His Gamertag was given on the Saturday stream but I don’t remember it off-hand.

When I raced against him in Multiplayer he was using Mechberg’s.

From memory his gamertag is
racertpx2 CORRECTION: JNRACERTPX2
but since I didn’t see it on screen during the stream and the Rivals event only says “See Forzamotorsport.net” and since I don’t see an official announcement of his gamertag or deadline, I don’t know if that’s accurate.

This should be the VOD but I can’t get it to load: Xbox is on Facebook Gaming
P.S. - if the link loads and you missed the livestream, take a look; Newgarden is one of the most relaxed, sincere, and articulate guests they’ve ever had on stream. He’s so personable I’ll almost feel bad when I beat him - because he put me in the wall during the livestream race! ;p

Anyone know if there is a reward for this event? I’m going to do it anyway to improve my skills, but I know someone somewhere will come along and either ask the exact same thing or complain because they did all the work and didn’t get anything. :slight_smile:

Says right in game on the rivals page for the event “Can you beat Josef Newgarden on the track? Succeed and win a prize.” So I would say yes, there is a reward.

I was unable to look in game at the time and they hadn’t announced anything about it yet.

I added the racertpx2 as a friend and that tag doesn’t have a time on the leaderboard as far as I can tell.

Just wanted to update this to indicate Josef Newgarden’s gamertag is actually “JNRacerTPX2”. Apparently, the GT announce on the stream was incorrect.
Updated this, as I don’t want to cause confusion.

Talby, it’s in the WIR for today.
It is RacerTPX2 I believe and I verified it works as I have already friended him
