…I don’t know who your PR people are. But you seriously need to consider sending them out of the same door PGG’s Mike Brown just went out of.
You said you would describe how the game feels better than ever, and then you spend 75% of the video gushing over GRAPHICS. Graphics and a little blurb here for sound. NO TIME - I REPEAT - NO TIME SPENT ON PHYSICS.
Years of near-continuous radio silence, and this is how you come out of the gate? With the same tired stuff that you tried at E3 last year? If I were Polyphony Digital, I would be prepping an in-depth look into the next GT7 update in between fits of laughter.

03:02 Is this how the UI really looks? Idk if its just me but it looks a bit too gigantic ;D
So seems like ray tracing will be properly implemented.
That night time shot with the city in the distance ouch… Game looks top notch all around. Seems like its getting delayed but honestly better be polished than broken… Especially since i hear previous game launched with lots of bugs and the recent track record of forza games.

I don’t mind seeing the SUVs, trucks, and buggies getting the boot, but losing a lot of road cars would be a genuine loss. Horizon 5 already cut to many “obvious to include” road cars, and I fear Motorsport 8 is only going to double down on this. My car wishlist should be getting smaller and be entirely composed of cars tha haven’t appeared in Forza before. It shouldn’t be getting bigger and be seventy percent composed of cars seen in past games.

UI during the race seems pretty on par with most track based racing titles. Would be nice to see the ability to scale it to preference and maybe it’s translucence as well.

…true to life reflections on all smooth mirror and flat glass surfaces…
This explains the limitations they had to bow under. Digital Foundry video thought there had to be limitations on what they ray traced or which less cpu hungry method they would use.
DF explained something how it really is more load to handle less reflective areas than highly reflective areas.
I’m sure it will look stunning anyway.
But sadly more of a holiday season game late Q3 or Q4.

I remember that, in the GT7 State of Play, Polyphony showed a model of a car with airflow over it to illustrate how they were using CFD to calculate aero.
But honestly I’m not even sure PD is that concerned. They’re full at work on the finishing touches of the PSVR2 update. Each game is doing its thing, but FM needs to show the thing it’s doing too, besides graphics.
Yea, 500 at launch reeks of playlist inclusion and weekly “re-adds” of cars not included at launch. If you hate the playlist in Horizon, just wait till you see it in Motorsport…lol.

In other words…
“If you haven’t acquired a PS5 yet, it’s strongly encouraged you do so now.”
Got mine a few weeks ago and have been playing GT7 since. I am just so, so disappointed in what Forza has become.

“car building focused single player mode” will probably make many people happy.
“an all new online mode” as well.
analysing every syllable to detect what is said…

If it still means broken physics/setups to run unrealistic WR times in a WWII Jeep, then no, I would not be happy.

I don’t mind if those cars get cut, but that is possible because it wouldn’t belong in Motorsport. Stuff like this will be relegated to Horizon.
Maybe this is a step in the right direction, but 500 cars? Bit concerning, no?

I referred to the car count in a previous post. Horizon playlist incoming no doubt.

Kyalami being added is nice, hopeful to see some other actual tracks, though Maple Valley is in there so

I just know my old home track of Sonoma is going to be one of the cut tracks. First they take away my favorite car brand in Horizon 5 (Lancia), and now they’re likely going to take away my favorite and old home track in Motorsport 8. Lords knows what other great tracks are getting cut.
Yea, I have no idea with Sonoma. NASCAR still runs there, and the Fanatec GT World Challenge, as well as some other minor vintage series, I would hope that isn’t cut completely. I have a feeling VIR is one of the cut tracks, no one liked all of the variations of it (I like the full course though).

I better hope Nurburgring doesn’t get cut again, because that is an iconic track. (EDIT: Nevermind; it was probably confirmed)
Maybe there’s hope for the ForzaMonthly tomorrow but who wants to bet that the majority of the 90 minutes this stream will run, they’ll gush about graphics like there’s no tomorrow? I have said it before and I will say it again: Graphics is the least concern for games. The actual gameplay matters. (and I bolded that last part for truth)

Wow, most advanced ever, best insert noun ever, built from the ground up, with the power of the series consoles bla bla bla. Even though i expected their presentation to be this way, it was even worse than i thought. Almost 6 years to make this game and still have next to nothing to show for it yet. This game is going to be a train wreck a la halo infinite, 6 years to make this game with less cars and less tracks, still no actual gameplay, one new online mode, “new” damage model that shows direction scratches wow im excited now and i can bet my life half the people working on it are sub contractors and when things go wrong they wont be there to fix it. What a joke

Well, so far, we’ve seen Laguna Seca, Spa, Kyalami, and Maple Valley. We’ve been told that we’re getting a new fantasy track called Circuit Hakone, and someone on Reddit claims that Mid-Ohio was briefly seen in the showcase. If true, that means we know six ouf the twenty circuits. Only 14 to go, and that’s not a very big window.
