It's Looking Bad for the Addition of Online Lobbies

no i dont want to do road trips neither and i definitely do not want to play playground games. i have over 1,000 wins so far and 0 playground games played lol. all i want to do is race

Was damage turned on in Horizons hoppers? Imo the beauty of lobbies is you tailor the experience to how people want it. Right now we have nothing…no control over anything really.

No? I feel I have control when in a private lobby. How do you suppose the game divvy up control in a public lobby?

As far as damage goes, everyone is free to set their damage difficulty in the in-game settings menu (accessible in online gameplay) to whatever suits them.

Does not work as those without damage on would just take you out. I dont think PG thought online through enough tbh.

A little off-topic, but this is a bit of a flaw IMO with regards to mechanical damage. Given the ram-y nature of the game, this puts anyone who chooses simulation damage at a disadvantage as they would suffer mechanical damage that would likely slow them down while anyone else with no damage or visual only would just keep trucking along. I also don’t think the increased pay out for having simulation damage on is worth being potentially knocked out of the race because your vehicle has been essentially disabled.

At the risk of splitting the online population into two, I think having separate mechanical damage on/off servers would work better, or as in enforcing that type of damage for everyone rather then letting people individually pick. Having mechanical damage lobby wide IMO would solve certain issues with the game and I am sure this has been brought up before, such as the much maligned wall-riding as doing that would degrade your vehicle. It might also prevent the bumper car situations we see too often in this game as trying to run someone off the road might ruin your car in this process.

I think the Showdown races from parking lots gives most pleasure playing online in this game, but I avoid the parking lot closest to the airfield
