I have had enough waiting for an answer. What is going on with the safety rating? Someone from T10 (Max) needs to clarify. I am S at the moment but I’ve dropped to A many times and even B once from getting hit by literally everyone after getting smashed. Why didn’t it ghost me as I spun down the track? I saw the same people in B as I did in S. Is it not enough players? Is it even turned on? You show something that everyone seems to think is meaningless. What is going on with this? We deserve an answer the game is out for 6 months and this still isn’t doing what it is supposed to.
Thanks.
The problem is even though the ratings are turned on, and might even be working as intended, the player count is so low that in order to fill a lobby everyone just gets lumped in together. Your S rating doesn’t mean too much when it comes to matchmaking, when all there is to pick from is 23 C or D safety drivers to fill the field.
I don’t care about what numbers are on Steam. There are more on Xbox. I find full lobbies all the time. It’s more than you think. It would be better if they told us the actual reason. Maybe you’re right maybe you’re not. Let’s hear it from T10.
They won’t admit to that under threat of anything less than a federal deposition. You know it and I know it, no matter how much the opposite should be true. XBox can’t have that many more active players than PC, because the lobbies would be of a significantly higher quality otherwise.
EDIT: And everyone, and I do mean everyone, would be pointing that out.
You’ll never hear it from Turn 10.
There are not enough players. I can end up in lobbies with less than 10 players most of the time, and will often rejoin the same lobby multiple times in a row trying to find a new one.
Therein lies the issue- How many of the XBOX players are on gamepass, and just out to cause destruction or just don’t care? There may be more players, but how many of them are skilled players? I am going to go out on a limb here and guess that its not the majority.
The numbers on steam are garbage, have been for a while now- but even if 5x the steam numbers are on Xbox, and half of those don’t take it seriously, it still leaves a very limited pool of high skill players to pick from.
As inconvenient as it may be, the situation is not going to improve until Turn10 gives a reason for a larger number of players to actually play the game.
The safety rating has turn on. “Has” it has “turned” on everyone. Get it?
I agree, I have a very good memory, I rarely see the same name twice in lobbies.
Almost always full.
Everything get merged together because no players left. They put everything in a room, dosnt matter if S or E rating and dosnt matter if europe or asian region. Thats why everything is laggy and low quality of players. my last race was with 3 people in a room, i tryed to switch but landed in a empty room then. with less than a minute till start the room was still empty, then i quit. to me it feels like the game is dead. but maybe there is some more popular rooms than E class races.
I think the gamepass numbers are less than you would think. I play on gamepass. When there are a lot of players on the game signing onto gamepass can be delayed by up to 10 minute wait time. After the Nordschleife update I experienced gamepass wait times of around 1 to 2 minutes max for a few days then it dropped back down to instant sign on. Since the Nordschleife update I’ve only seen the sign on delay a few rare times. There haven’t even been any sign on delays after the Brands Hatch update. Take it for what it’s worth buy it doesn’t seem to me like there is a lot of people playing via gamepass. Which given the steam numbers likely translates into not a lot of people playing in general.
And far as the rammers and the griefers I would say those are probably split pretty even between steam, gamepass, pc, and console players.
Probably so. But if the Microsoft store numbers look anything like the Steam numbers, we ain’t exactly rolling deep with either talent or chaos lol.
Full 24 player lobbies are overrated, too much can go wrong in a lobby that big. Lobbies with 15 or less are less chaotic when it comes to how hit/miss the penalty system is. Turn one is still a mess no matter what track you’re on. I know it’s taboo to mention but the first 30 seconds still need to be ghosted. Too many times a turn 1 pile up can really ruin your fun and/or your race if you get spun out.
I assume it would do something if there were enough players to have numerous lobbies open at the same time.
All I play are the class hoppers and I always see the same players during my gaming time (evening to night in Europe).
The pool is pretty small and then it’s following the rule of filling up > sorting by rating.
That’s why none of both ratings mean anything.
Totaly agree with this: they should reduce the numbers of player from 24 to 16 in multiplayer lobbies.
There are actual videos on youtube of people dropping safety levels and demonstrating the chaos.
I’m not sure if player skill or safety rating has ever had much affect on what people are in a lobby.
Nearly every race I’ve done in touring cars at launch had people a few seconds slower and faster than me per lap. There’d also be a lot at the back that must have had low safety ratings, considering all the collisions they were causing.
I’d assume the population on launch was pretty decent, so I doubt a low population is the main problem now (even though it makes things worse).
It definitely has not. I hate to say but if it’s not working get rid of it. I hover around 4900 and there is a lot of chaos. No way all of them are near that when I go into a lobby. We all see crazy very poor driving.
I have the impression that, safety note or not, this subject has been the same for years. One-off players, sometimes young, who destroy your races, whether deliberately or not. Rammers, rammers, those who react badly or drive you into a wall… Is there really a solution? It’s still an open game for the general public, and unless the penalty system is improved, you’ll never be safe from this pool of ‘bad drivers’.
However, I remember that the FH4 classified races worked well. Guys I’d never come across in trials or freeroam would pulverise me in a classified race, while in free racing in all sorts of other modes I’d often perform well.
In a perfect scenario if you had a lobby of S rated 4500 plus skill drivers I think it would be very different. There will always be someone out to ruin your race but it would be much less. It’s not hard to get back to S when you are dropped (4-5 clean races between safety levels it seems) so someone could drive good a few races get a good safety rating and cause chaos again. There is also the multiple profile thing. They said somewhere people can’t do that anymore but I doubt that is enforced. There is always a way it seems to be a bad actor in Forza and exploit the system.
When you say “Game Pass” do you mean “cloud/stream”, because I have GP but have downloaded the games i’m playing most. It cuts out all that watching the rocket fly across the screen like an 80s videogame!
