Hey guys I found this article about setting up a drift car whether it’d be a grassroots missile car or a professional battle setup these tips actually work in game really well, the author is one of the crew men who set up and adjusted Dai Yoshihara’s S13 chassis so he definatly knows what he’s talking about.
Most of these tips in this article seem to work on forza but forza is still just a simulator not real life and -3 degrees of camber on the front of your car is a horrible idea in this game. Will make your car way to twitchy when you go to transition corners unless you have the money to buy a really good wheel wouldn’t recommend going over 1 degree in the front i usually run between -.6 to -.2 degrees.
This ^^^^, i have drift cars where i run as much as -4 up front and the cars are perfect. Even though im not a point drifter im usual top 3 most lobbys and can stick to anyones door tandem lol
Could be he never got used the to new physics and started to tune differently to make up for the changes.
I know i was running less camber up front when the game first came out, but now that I’ve gotten used to the new engine I find my tunes are starting to go back to how they were on 4.
Suspension doesn’t have anything to do with it when you have high negative camber on the front of your car it makes it more responsive making it twitchy you can really tell it when you are drifting and the front of your car goes over a rumble strip. Try going on silverstone and drift you car over a rumble strip with high and low camber you should be able to see a huge difference. On a positive side drifting high camber with a wheel shouldn’t be a problem just because you can be so much more precise, but with a controller it just makes it a lot easy with lower camber.
Why would I drift on a rumble strip? You’re not supposed to lol, and your suspension has everything to do with it, read the descriptions that they give you, anti roll bars determine understeer/oversteer spring rate mainly determines transitional understeer/oversteer and bump atifness and rebound stifness help with front/rear grip and understeer/oversteer. The reason the high camber makes your car twichy is because your suspension setup is out of wack, now I’m not saying your tune is wrong but you can’t run a standard suspension tune set for -2 deg of front camber but in turn run -4 deg of front, remember the alignment is for competition cars (mainly) they’re light weight with lots of power so a normal tune that we’re all used to is completely different on this game. Frankly I started to run this new setup and had amazing results, it took some getting used to tuning wise since I had to change a lot but it works amazingly
I think it’s just your tuning. I drift on Silverstone as it’s a home track and where I like to practise on. The rumble strips are deadly, but you shouldn’t be going on them anyway. I run -2.0 in the front and -0.5 in the rear, I like to keep the rear the same but I can change up the front to -5 there’s really no difference.
WHAT THE HELL YOU RUNNIN 789bhp AND YOU’RE JUST NOW LEARNING HOW TO DRIFT??? Idk if your sig is talking about in game or irl but either way that’s a ton of hp for a beginner
