I’m trying to use my G27 in Forza Apex. When I select it from the input section and choose Logitech G27 and confirm I get an error message “Incompatible Wheel Layout. You have selected a layout that is not compatible with your wheel. Reverting to default layout.” I dont understand why it’s not working. I can use my wheel just fine in F1 2013 and GRID Autosport. I’ve tried re-installing the drivers for the wheel, uninstalling all my Logitech software and then re-installing. Anyone else run into this issue?
I was able to resolve this issue by plugging my G27 into a USB port on the motherboard instead of on the front USB ports on my PC. I noticed that when I had my wheel plugged into the front USB ports, it only showed as HID keyboard and HID Mouse (these were indeed from the Logitech wheel) in the “Devices and Printers” screen. After plugging into the back of the PC, it showed as Logitech G27 Gamepad along with the other 2 previously mentioned devices. This was not a very apparent problem because my wheel was working just fine in other racing games that I owned as mentioned in the previous post. I hope this helps others that may run into this issue.
Thanks.
I have the same problem but cannot resolve it by reinstalling the wheel or changing port. I have a Logitech G25.
I would make sure your G25 shows in your “Devices and Printers” correctly. It should be listed as the G25 and not something else. If you upgraded to Windows 10 from a previous version of Windows and had your G25 installed, it botches the drivers. Look over this page as I had to perform these actions. Hope this helps.
It definitely shows up as “G25 Racing Wheel” under Devices and Printers. I have removed and reinstalled the driver. The wheel partially works in-game, I just cannot choose the Logitech G25 preset due to the above error. Under default controls, the shifter does not work and the steering angle is extremely tight.
This work for me, just plug the wheel i other usb port, and work fine,but…
I need to set custom wheel, for setup the cluth pedal.
Im having the same problem with my G27 wheel. I have reinstalled the drivers, the game itself, and tried a different usb port (both front and back) and it STILL won’t let me choose g27 as my wheel in the options.
i have same problem with my g29 … please help . thx
::::SOLUTION POST::::
I too received “Incompatible wheel layout selected” and could not select Logitech G25. I was running a newer Logitech beta driver for use with RRE. That driver is not currently supported by Forza.
Uninstall your current Logitech Gaming Software from Add/Remove Programs. Then download and install the current release driver dated March 14, 2016, version 5.10.127.
Next time you launch Forza, the game should properly detect your wheel and set the correct profile.
Same issue but only with forza, all other games work with g25, after having this game 5 months and no wheel support and now to have what seems to be only generic wheel support I’m so disappointed and think I can no longer hope this is resolved as a timely manner would be a month not almost a year. Cant choose g25 regardless of usb port or upto date drivers, wheel so disconnected in the game its like 30% each way is completely dead and not feel like any car is driving but maybe a bus with a broken steering rack.
Whats the point in a car game that cant support the basics like a steering wheel
