how about, and im just suggesting, how about including ALL of the dlc’s to the game we paid 100$ for. it’s insane how we pay 100$ for a game AND have to pay an extra 20+ just to get all the car packs, not even mentioning how the devs may add more car packs in the future. in my opinion if we would get all of the dlc’s/carpacks when paying 100$ for a game would be amazing, until then, we will have to wait
Business mathematics:
You buy the ultimate edition for 100 $ / € .
And you will buy around 50 additional cars for mere 50 $ / € extra because you´re a completionist.
Sorry but that’s just greedy, let me explain:
Other games eg. Race Room and Rennsport are completely free in the base version of the game and you just buy new content in form of dlc’s. Race Room with all dlc’s costs a few hundred bucks.
There is also games like AMS2, ACC, rFactor2, etc. where the base game costs 20 - 50 bucks and you buy additional dlc’s for a full price of 200 - 300 bucks.
Then there is also iRacing which is subscription based and has countless dlc’s which results in a huge game with a huge price.
And then there is the Forza games, where you pay a lot for the base game ~70 bucks, but the full game with all dlc’s will still cost around 150 - 200 bucks.
Talking specifically about FH5, the game has had free updates with free content, mainly cars and EventLab, since release. We even got anti lag turbos an entire overhaul for a game mode - EventLab 2.0 and new temporary content every month. No matter wether you like this free content or not, it is way more than we’ve ever gotten from any other racing game.
Overall, Forza games are not more expensive than other titles, they just have a higher starting price. If you want the game to be less expensive in it’s base version, then you also have to make the updates more expensive, considering that the updates feature free content and usually have a pricey car pack, you really shouldn’t complain, it could be worse.
And also just to have it said: FM will probably continue on the same path as Horizon 5. All updates will be free, but it will feature paid dlc content. My personal guess is that race tracks will be free for at least the first 2 years of development and beside the paid content we’ll still get enough free cars to be entertained.
