I’m Scottish, and I’m very interested. Good race cars are good race cars.
Speak for yourself! Sports car racing has a more relevant following internationally than NASCAR or Indy car.
The IMSA series and ALMS before that have a big fan base thanks to the likes of Radio Le Mans (IMSA Radio) who provide free worldwide coverage. For the most part, IMSA use globally recognised regulations for their classes (albeit with some different name that appeal more to the locals) so there is a massive crossover with other series across the globe.
The DPI class allows the same current spec LMP2 cars that feature in ELMS and WEC. GTLM is just a different name for what everyone else calls GTE. GTD is just a renamed GT3 class.
So as an Englishman, in England, I can say that I’m very much interested to see where this partnership goes.
LOL Trolling or ignorant?
If only domestic and international manufacturers, brands and race teams were showing unprecedented interest and involvement in the series. Oh wait…
Later! “Don’t let the door hit you where the good Lord split you.”
Oh please let one of the dlc tracks be Mid Ohio. Haven’t. raced that track since Race 07. Hopefully we get liveries and more Race cars out of this…
Agreed SgtFancypants. This seasons IMSA Weathertech series has seen some great racing across all classes, certainly as good as anything we’ve seen in the WEC or ELMS.
As a follower & spectator of endurance racing since the early 80s and as a fan of Motorsport, it doesn’t matter what country the series is based in, it’s about the quality of the racing, and the IMSA series at the moment provides quality racing.
Certainly looking forward to seeing what T10 offer with this new announcement
Stu
Great news; love the comments about Mid-Ohio as well!
I need 2017 and old IMSA cars. Very good news!
I’d like to see Mid-Ohio added to the track list also. Spent a lot of time there in my youth sitting in the S’s watching races there.
This would be a great opportunity to introduce some actual new cars and tracks
The wording of the article makes it sound like the majority of this “IMSA content” is what’s already in the game.
More than 100 cars from IMSA history will be in the new game, as well as nine tracks – Daytona, Sebring, Long Beach, Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, Road America, Virginia International Raceway, Laguna Seca and Road Atlanta.
I too hope to see a car pack with updated GT, DPi, and Prototype racecars, but at this point it is a wishful thought. Hopefully this partnership will be represented in other areas too, such as pre-made decals, multi-class online hoppers, or possibly an IMSA-inspired driver’s cup.
Makes me wonder how long it will be before we realistically see something. They also announced a partnership with a rally series and since then there’s been zero news.

That’s more like it! this has way more appeal to me than the tuner/drift stuff we’ve been getting like Fast & Furious and Hoonigan, even the “motorsport” inspired wide body kits are more Liberty Bunny than race breed.
Interesting the 100 cars statement, as of now we only have 36 or so and 74ish once you count the IMSA cars from FM4, and about 76/77 if you add in cars that have raced in IMSA but a non IMSA team represented in game cars.
I look forward to IMSA more than the WEC and ELMS that’s for sure and I enjoy a many national series over world series as they tend to be less clinical and more fan orientated.
To be honest it makes more sense than a WEC partnership, the IMSA GTE category is pretty much the same , you’d miss out on the GT3’s, you have the DPI’s in addition to the P2’s and we already have the 919, but the TS050 might have bean MIA with the Toyota issue, that weirdly doesn’t seem to affect Gran Turismo, wink, wink, nudge, nudge. So I think its the best partnership to go with for endurance racing championships. IT has the most variety, other sportscar and endurance racing series only have one or two classes and IMSA brings them all together in a weekend (LMP2/DPI, GTE, GT3, GT4, ST, LMP3 and soon TCR).
IMSA DLC? yes please… As a Brit who watches the series via their streaming service just about every race, I am VERY interested in any possible IMSA DLC…
That could explain why we haven’t got any new GT cars… DLC confirmed. Not sure how I feel about that as I expected atleast some new GT race cars in the initial release.
If it comes as a DLC like the Nascar one, I hope for some core Motorsport regulations to take part in it. Flag rules, cautions or driver swaps would be great things.

No, but you will probably will get homologation, in which you can only use street tires that are 205’s, and won’t be able to upgrade the tranny because it will put you over the PI. LOL
Would be great to have the new IMSA prototypes and furthermore there is a massive lack in modern GT cars. hopefully that gets fleshed out in the coming months.
IMSA has been a fantastic thing to watch this year so would be nice to replicate it within the game.
I’m sure if they want to recreate the series properly that homologation would be setup for the actual series constraints.

This is why I’m happy the homologation thing exists even if I still want the old hoppers back as well.
Fingers crossed Belle Isle makes an appearance also
