Imsa is north americas primer series for sports car racing and of course racing fans and gamers would all love to drive the modern prototypes of this era and beyond question is will we get them?? It’s something we have all been asking lately due to other racing games like real racing 3 have gotten dpis but nothing would compare in seeing them in forza just imagine T10 adding a few new tracks plus that 488 GTLM we have all been waiting for it would attract new racing gamers to forza especially if they are imsa fans. Just look at the possibilities T10 u can literally win a lot by attracting players with imsa content I know it will be hard with the liscensing and etc… but it’s worth it, it’s only a matter of time before we find out if we will get DPis I hope
I have a theory and I hope I’m right, I believe T10 will do an IMSA mini expansion like they did for IndyCar with the possibility of a track thrown in. I’ve been analyzing this IMSA partnership that they have and putting some pieces together. Let’s start with the first thing, tracks. Every one of forza 7’s competitors have added a track to their game but T10 has yet to budge I believe that will change for a few reasons. The last four motorsport games they have added at least 1 track be it free or part of an expansion why would they stop here…then in one of the more recent forza monthly’s Chris esaki did make some subliminal comment saying like " hope theres no unannounced tracks shown…" and they know this game could use some more longevity to hold us over until FM8 and one way to do that is to add at least 1-2 tracks preferably IMSA based. We have 9 out of 12 so it wouldn’t surprise me if they actually get all 3 remaining but if I had to bet it would be at least mid-Ohio being added if anything. Then the cars, which yeah since release they have added maybe close to a dozen? Classic and modern IMSA racers but one thing is missing, (technically two, GT4 based cars in the Michelin cup sportscar group) but modern prototypes! Not one of these newer sims have added the new DPi’s until recently which makes me wonder if there was some restriction for the longest. That mobile game R3 racing or something like that finally have dpi racers and that could be a floodgate that’s been open for at least forza, raceroom, iracing and GT sport since all continue content support. In the article it is mentioned they plan to " further expand " and deliver " new experiences" so that could mean we could still possibly get some real IMSA love because let’s face it the about a dozen IMSA based cars that has been added is hardly any kind of new experience. The ideal IMSA expansion would include the three main DPi racers Cadillac, Acura and Mazda, maybe one or two GTD cars and a few GT4 cars plus a new track and the timing could be around this summer. Again this is pure speculation but I hope I’m onto something since T10 is not done with this game yet, we have probably the remainder of this year to get support at least what I can guess for this game so let’s hope and pray they deliver. The only other possibility is that the partnership is stretched into forza 8 with all that extra content I mentioned above and then some. As opposed to it all being dropped on this game.
I am hoping for an ISMA car pack as well and maybe a track or two or three before the end of FY2019. I hope T10 includes the Electronic Merchant Systems Ferrari 488 in the IMSA car pack if T10 does release one. I am optimistic that T10 is listening to constructive criticism vs. complaining. The game is coming along with the changes and updates. It will take some more time and tweaking to get Forza 7’s Driver Experience Improved enough for all to enjoy (AI, Car Packs, Tracks, etc.) T10 has a couple of more months left in the FY2019 to do their thing with monthly updates and there may be some surprises in store.
You’ve answered your own question.
The game is 1½ year old already, it’s most likely that almost all new content is going to be added to the next iteration.
To back you up, normally they would have been done with car DLC probably 8 months ago but you see we’re still getting that right. With this IndyCar booster we got, I’m still holding onto hope that they will shake up the IMSA world in this game. Have faith and we will see is what I say.
T10 might surprise us we all expected Indy car content at some point and we got brand new cars all we have to do is be patient the more we wait the better the content just imagine it
I’ve been complaining about the Ferrari since the game was released and had to create my own GTLM 488 in Risi livery that I have to race in its own bucket in single player mode. I believe Forza 8 will be a release title for Anaconda and I HOPE Turn 10 follows in Project Cars 2 surprise Le Mans release and gives us a Le Mans treat and releases an IMSA update next month.
Although T10 won’t be at E3 this year the stage could be set for something big I just know it currently forza horizon 4 will get its second expansion but forza 7 well let’s just wait and see who’s going to E3 this year?? Cause i am
So there is quite a bit of info missing here and i don’t like uninformed opinions. The dallara IR18, the new Indycar, was leaked in tweet from Indycar in a similar fashion to the Apollo IE and DTM, will get to that in a bit. The deal with IMSA has never been fully released so it could have just been the 1 FRC season and that was it, but like I said we don’t know so it’s equally possible that the cars are coming at some point. About the tracks Turn10 announced at E3 that they weren’t adding more tracks because it would separate the community too much, case in point is forza 6 with the 2 expansions. DTM was possibly just leaked by the official DTM Twitter yesterday (5/20/19). With all of that said, Forza 7 is reaching the end of its development cycle, if not reached the end of it, which means that items that aren’t already in development aren’t getting put in. There is very little that will happen in between now and the beginning of this years FRC. Turn10 even said that this months bounty hunter will be the last for Forza 7. This game isn’t going to be growing by much in between now and the next forza next year. If anything gets added to Forza 7 it will development for the next Forza game.
