Impossible ai car upgrades/pi level

Anyone else noticed during career mode that the ai opponents have upgrades like for example race tyres fitted but if I fit them my car breaches the pi limit for the event. So I have a less grippy tyre on the same car my opponents have and my car is near enough the same pi, which in theory means i have more powerful engine. But in the race I get out dragged down the straights :man_shrugging:t3: when starting a series I tend to upgrade my stock cars engine first then as soon as it’s available I upgrade the suspension, after 2-3 races my rivals have upgraded tyre compound where as I still run stock tyres but they’re faster than me down the straights! How this possible unless the ai car pi level is wrong

I did recognize the same thing i.e. A.I. driver with level one using race tyres or aerodynamics on low level cars, but as I drive in the easiest difficulty settings that was never a problem for me.

Maybe they use the ballast feature to significally lower their PI and get more grip through better tyre compounds. Maybe they use custom tuning shared by other players. Who knows.

I found it a nice feature in the FM7 Multiplyer Lobby to see the tuning used by the oponents, but haven’t seen this on FM yet. (Though I had to admit that I haven’t played Multiplayer yet on the new Forza Motorsport)

I just found it funny that Level 1 Players are using widebody kits, aeros or racing tyres… but that are almost cosmetics when you drive on a low difficulty level like I did.

I have all cars (over 800 in the garage) 18 000 000 credits and soon I will be prestige level 3, why should I bother with the bad AI on higher difficutlies?

The game is still so broken - spilled almost my softdrink as I whitnessed that the AI crashes into the tyre wall blocking the correct pit exit for the Daytona Sports Car track outlay every time after a pitstop (another error copy and pasted from older Forza Motorsport titles).

If the devs don’t care, why should I?

Yea hopefully with the new system this issue won’t be so bad. As you can whack tyres and kits in your first race, if you have the creds
