Am I missing something here? I can’t seem to upgrade my Mazda B09 to the same level PI as the AI in game. I could get to 976 (with a wheel change), but 983 PI doesn’t seem possible. Has anyone else seen this?

Basically the AI performance cheats are back that T10 promised would not happen in this game.

They used to be a bit more “sly” about it, keeping the PI at the max possible while boosting performance in the background.
I’ve run this championship twice with both cars, and I’m over it now. Depending on what car you use, they are going to have a 20-50 PI advantage over you regardless of how upgraded your car is. Between that and how ridiculous the target lap times are, it’s not worth my time anymore, especially at AI Level 8.

I did it and they were only 10 pi more than me. I was in R.

I noticed the same. Most of the other Mazda’s were about 983 while I had 975.
The AI also cheated by repeatedly driving in to me. None of them ever got penalties for it.

With a R900 detuned Oreca Motorsports it was fine.
The problem arises with maxed out builds. There the AI Oreca has ~30 PI more than what’s possible.
I could somewhat match the pace at difficulty 8 but no chance of catching up and I beat my tires through the pushing.
Yeah, it’s not the first time I’ve seen the target times in practice be a bit “hardcore”. It forces me to run softs just in practice to try and make those times. I think I got all but the Laguna Seca one, and only missed it by 3 tenths.
