Who thinks it is a good idea to have special “PI” in career mode, e.g. instead of 800 as restriction, in career it is 780?
Every time I want to race in career mode I have to use new tunes and new items from the upgrade shop. Career mode is so blunt and boring, it would be at least nice if we could use this as a “test drive” for the online play.
Whoever thought that was a good idea, please reconsider for Forza 7, thanks
Yeah I thought it was completely stupid to do that instead of just leaving it as the class restrictions. Doesn’t doing the PI thing kind of negate the purpose? That’s why I stopped doing career mode. I think I’m like in the “street” one? I don’t even know what it’s called, cuz after the 3rd series when I tried to select a car and said some BS about being over the max, but it was still an A class car, I just said F it, and I’ll stick to Freeplay and Multiplayer.
Fully agree. For online I have to buy the same car now which is such a silly design to say the least, as well as having to go into the garage to remove the upgrades.
I actually like it. You can save multiple setups, so you don’t have to have more than one of the same car. Just load the one with the PI that you want prior to the race. Sure you’ll have some spare parts for the cars, but they give you plenty of credits through the career, so it’s not really a problem.
I think the idea behind it was to keep the cars more balanced in career mode. In previous editions, you could just build a car maxed out in class and destroy the AI drivers. It didn’t even have to be all that good.
When did that ever happen? I don’t remember playing career mode in past Forza games and having a big PI difference between myself and the AI. They upgraded to the top of the class just as I did. If the maximum was 800, they’d normally be within a few points of that, like 795 to 800. I don’t remember playing career mode and having 800 PI versus AI with 702. Maybe that was a thing back in FM2, but I don’t recall since that was a handful of years and handful of Forza games ago, but I’m pretty sure this wasn’t a thing in FM3, FM4, FH, FM5, and FH2.
Seriously? Even if the AI had upgraded cars in the previous Forza’s they were so pathetically easy to beat, even on the hardest level. I didn’t say the PI was matched, I said that it was so the cars are better matched. And that’s just a theory I have, I have no confirmation of that.
Not a huge of that system at all. I’d rather not spend time upgrading a car that I will barely use.
I would have played a lot more career if I were using my max PI garage cars and using career as a test drive with other cars. That would have been more engaging and a better ‘story’.
I found that if you let it auto down grade a tune you made, it keeps most your settings and just takes away HP and or tires. Usually can still beat the “unbeatable AI” easily doing this.
I agree it is annoying having to build cars that are only good for career mode due to being below PI caps. I understand it for races like the 60’s GP cars and some of the other race cars but for things like Executive Heavyweights it is just annoying.
The entire PI think in career is just silly. Why cant they do it like in Horizon where the AI cars are just adjusted to a PI right about the same as the one you’re using. That way you can run any car of any class in the career mode and know the AI will be similarly equipped.
Agreed. Just noting that the PI matching exists in Freeplay.
Funny that the element that would make Career more bearable is in Freeplay and the element that would make Freeplayore bearable is in Career, but they don’t coexist anywhere in single player.
