I'm glad I did, and I'm glad they did.

I just wanted to say that I finally made the investment, and that I’m glad I did. Turn 10 made a great game and I’m glad they did it the way they did. It may not be what people are use to, however, let’s face it. Games change! Live with it. I have read a lot of complaints about this and that and again to turn 10s credit they listened and made reasonble adjustments. Remember, this is what people asked for, and as I posted before now it’s time to pay for it. You can clearly see that the game was made to keep evolving. In addition, turn 10 is giving us free dlc tracks, I don’t care if you think the track is suppose to be in the game already. They don’t have to give us anything,…but they do.

All I have to say is keep up the great work Turn 10 , I have been with you since day one and I understand your vision, and that you understand our hopes for the franchise. No game is perfect, but as long as a car and motorsports lover like myself continues get endless amounts of enjoyment from Forza I will always invest. You see, if you love cars you love this because you can express your passion, there’s an interaction ,an exchange with very little risk. Turn 10 has the daunting task of taking all that passion and car culture and transitioning it into a product. It ain’t easy.

I’m with you, I’m a fan girl of forza 5

That is very well made point and I for one could not agree more.

I second that. This is the best Forza to date. Forza 6 is really going to have to step up even more because of a game coming out in November. If that game can run @ 60fps & have stuff that has been asked for in Forza for a while with dead on physics. Then I expect Forza 6 to be incredible!

Agree 90%. Minimal adjustments not resonable imo

I agree, OP. This is a great game, and I’m glad T10 didn’t try to put even more in for this first game on the new platform. They left out what they did for a reason (which only T10 knows but it’s their decision either way), even though a lot of players don’t want to see it that way. There were a lot of issues with FM4 that helped make it possible for people to ruin the game (glitches, hacking, etc etc), but it’s odd how people forget those things when a new game comes out!
A lot of people don’t accept change easily, but when change is for the good, like in FM5, they better get used to it - or leave if they can’t handle it.

Best FM concerning everything “racing wise”
I think its the worst FM for everything else.

I’m behind you 100%, Turn10 did a great job making this game and the effort shows in terms of quality and passion for both the game and community, they took a lot of risks by building the game from the ground up and im happy they did, lets face it if they just wanted a quick buck they could have just made a prettier version of forza 4, not that it was a bad game, but the physics were not as realistic as those in F5.
Looking forward to future installments in this awesome series, hopefully we can officially see horizon 2 at e3 this year, can’t wait to see what T10 have up their sleeves, keep up the good work T10!

Hmm I have to disagree who ever asked for less tracks and limited game modes online

They have made a step up visually but thats it imo

This is going to be the deal breaker game for Forza, if it comes out and is a hit (and with what everyone can see from gameplay and reviews it looks like it will be) unless Forza 6 has weather and night along with an extensive track list they can wave goodbye to the Racing genre and go make FPS games cause P C is making both GT and Forza look like a joke at the moment …

P.s LONG term supporter of Forza been playing since day 1 way back on big bertha !!

Im a day one supporter as well, playing on big bertha lol!! Yes that other game is shaping up to be something special it would appear. Forza 6 has got to have weather, night racing, time shift, and a lot more tracks. From what the personal computer community is posting on YouTube & saying in forums, that other game should be insane. Time will tell though.

I actually do really enjoy Forza 5 a ton. The only problem I have with it is always getting weak internet connection. My god it always seems to want to show up & slow my game down in a turn. I have never had problems on no xbox live game playing online connection wise till Forza 5. I have been on Xbox Live since day one. I don’t know where in the world the server the game puts me in, but it’s ridiculous & it makes me not want to play Forza 5 online much. Why is it when I was playing Titanfall beta, I could pick my server? I picked one from NY & had a terrific ping & no network issues. That’s my only problem with Forza 5, online connection quality.

I agree I am a racer and own 2 games on my console, this and Trials and I play pretty much every day, but we are finding the same old is becoming a little tedious, especially when you look ahead to November and how spoilt we will be …

I have a few friends that have this issue too, have a look on Xbox.com at the port forwarding and network setting up as this may help, we also find it normally happens at a specific time of day so could be just the sheer amount of traffic on the “line” at the time

Okay, I finally took the time to look at Xbox Support. What did I do? Well, for my Dlink DGL-5500 router I gave my Xbox One & 360 a permanent IP address (to ensure an always OPEN NAT). Then after clicking link in xbox site, I went to port forward site. I easily found the way to port forward on my router for both consoles. That site also easily explains how to keep an OPEN NAT. Mine was usually open, but every blue moon, strict/moderate. Now I haven’t played Forza 5 yet since I did this late last night. I will later this morning. Ironically, it was me playing COD Black Ops 1 on 360 that made me go do all this port forwarding & such. Game was lagging out (equivalent of when I got WEAK NETWORK CONNECTION on Forza 5). COD ran smooth as silk after I did this online. I don’t know why COD started running bad like my Forza 5 online, but it’s good now.

Let me eat some breakfast & I’ll fire up Forza 5 & Thrustmaster and test out online in No Collision B Class hopper!

So… any updates? Did it help?

I rarely have problems, but a good friend of mine deals with WNC often, and any advice I could pass his way (that works) would be greatly appreciated.

I’m also sure other users around here would benefit from the knowledge.

And, just to keep it on topic: I love Forza 5. Period. Bought my whole setup for it and play daily. I’m also “glad I did, and I’m glad they did,” as the thread’s title says

No it did not help. Still got same sorry issue. I just started a thread fully explaining my set up & what i have done. Feel free to comment there.

I did also enjoy doing free play this morning driving the Lotus F1 car at Le Mans Le Sarthe for 10 laps. Had a ball.

I was brought over from the Playstation because Forza 1 was more fun than Gran Turismo 4. Plain and simple. GT was touted as a “love letter” to car lovers, but it was like reading the Congressional Record: all facts and not nearly enough emotion. FM took what I liked about GT, but it added passion. Has FM5 lost cars? Yes. Has it lost tracks? Yes. Has it lost some of the multiplayer options we loved? Yes. Would I like to see more content? Yes. Would I like to see more options? Ditto. But, I enjoy this game nonetheless. Why? Since I’m answering all my own questions anyway, I’ll answer this one, too. It hasn’t lost one bit of the very passion that made the original great.

I enjoy Forza and I’m sure I’ll enjoy pc. As far as I’m concerned the more hi res stunning enjoyable games I’m spoiled with the more money I’ll spend on the escapism. It’s a great time to be a gamer.

20 years ago with limited technology and a bit of a stigma associated with pc’s and games consoles it was the geeks hobby, now though it’s great to finally see them become mainstream. even the consoles are taking over the living room and doubling as blu Ray players media centers etc.

I can’t wait to see what the future holds!!

Enjoy it kids the future is bright.

I don’t think any kids will read this or enjoy playing forza for any length of time. Probably hardly any kids using this forum. If there were it would be full of insults and the word noob would be everywhere. Damn ingrates.

Games ok wish future dlc tracks would be in some of the races Insted of the like bonus events and rivals
