Seems like every thread is someone whining about their own person issues with the game. First of all I know it is far from perfect but I am also patient and feel like T10 knows what is at stake here so they will indeed make it nice and shiny.
I feel like I am the only one that enjoys trying different cars on different courses and tweaking the tune a bit here and there to get the most out of my car.
I play about 2 hours every night to unwind after work and I am having a great time and still feel challenged by it.
Anyone else out there think its fun and worth the price of admission? Anyone else still finding ways to challenge their abilities?
If so what are you doing? Maybe it will help someone.
i enjoy it right now as it is…yup there are things i want to see changed/added etc. but im happy with what i got…knowing they will continue to improve the game
You’re not alone.
I love this game.
The thing is, people who are happy with the game don’t necessarily go to the forums to praise their beloved game.
Usually it’s those unhappy with the game coming to the forums to complain about things.
Sure, I like it.
Had higher hopes than merely liking it.
Right now I am really focusing class by class. Also trying to spread out cars by brand to keep affinity balanced. A Rivals here and there is a good hour to use up. Enjoying a bit of ABCS, when the lobby sets itself up properly. There are things, but it’s not this mindblowing amazing world of fun. It’s what you put into it, the previous Forza’s were more addicting, this one has me slightly playing to make up for buying an XBONE.
It might be better to answer the core question rather than complain about others thoughts’. Just an idea.
You’re not alone. I like it. I posted a long thing the other day in one of the angry threads giving my thoughts on the situation from a game developer’s perspective (I don’t work on Forza, but I do work on AAA console games). I’ve since heard from a few other devs who lurk these forums about this and they’re generally in agreement.
It’s a good game. They survived a console transition and still managed to bring us 200+ cars and, what, 14 tracks? Something like that. It’s a shocking amount of content given two years and a console transition (which is always hard).
Last night I decided on a new way to challenge myself with the game by focusing on certain basics. Now I haven’t been with Forza as long as many but I do have a touch of ADD. So I decided to work on some of my weakest areas and had a blast. I have fun challenging myself to do better at even mundane things so I haven’t even really had a chance to worry about what it doesn’t have as I am focusing on how good I can be at what it does have.
I have zero regrets buying this. Its a launch title first of all so you can’t expect it to be the same as say forza 4. Its just not possible unless your dev team is 1000 strong and that wouldn’t be practical for many reasons.
This game is a great showcase for the future and its fun. Not the best forza but still great. I hope forza 6 ditches the tokens and goes back to the old way of money and cars and I hope they add day/night and weather effects as well. Its really the only thing gran turismo can hold over forza now. Forza is better in every other regard
I have a love/hate relationship with the game. I love the physics and graphics, but I hate the lack of features which were in previous Forzas. I also hate the amount of bugs and the lack of tracks. I’ve never gotten so ticked off with a game before, but if I didn’t love the franchise so much I would have stopped playing months ago and probably would have never commented here. I just want to be able to enjoy my favorite racing franchise’s latest offering, but they make that very difficult. I like it enough to keep trying to play it, but it constantly drives me nuts.
Hoping this update fixes some of the more annoying things.
You’re not alone. I like it very much. I don’t think it is as bad as some folks make it and the new graphics are worth the cost alone. I am looking forward to the next developments and hopefully a FH2 using the XBOX One in at least two or three regions!!!
I’m enjoying the driving and the graphics. In fact I hope in FM 6 we see no changes to those so that T10 can focus on all the things we’ve been asking for forever. I think there in lies the disappointment. The game feels thin. Like really thin. To top it off the content us racers have been asking for, for nearly a decade now are still not here. Things like ballast, fuel loading, realistic pits, different compounds, etc, etc. Top all that with the lack of tracks in a game that already needed more tracks in the last generation it’s a let down. Not to mention T10s communication has been dreadful which has left many fans feeling like T10 is just taking their money and hiding.
The good news is there is a great and I mean great base to build on. Again the physics, driving, and graphics are just stunning. With some better communication from T10 and more content FM6 is shaping up to probably be the best game ever. I’m hopeful. So for now I stay by my statement that FM5 is enjoyable but thin.
I understand how people can love it, and I understand how people could hate it. What I hope people see is that the reality is some where in between and everyone needs to keep talking it out so that if T10 is listening they hear it. They hear the good and the bad. That’s how FM6 will make it to that legendary level that it certainly can be.
I’m 56 years old and new to the XBox world, never having played with one in my life. So I can’t go back and compare to earlier versions. I can say that my experience has been great, I’m on at least a couple hours a night and am slowly progressing in skills to be a competitive threat someday. I do wish there had been some sort of PDF manual to download, as that would have made the learning curve a bit less steep for a guy that didn’t know how the controller worked.
I’m amazed at the game really, last experience of mine was from computer flight sim games from the 90’s, so you can imagine the genuine surprise I got when I first turned it on, it was like seeing color TV for the first time (Yes… I can remember that little guy that walked across the B&W screen, then jumped straight up and said ‘WOW!.. I saw color tv’ )
Yeah man about the only thing separating us is 8 yrs I am in the same boat. Sometimes I feel goofy playing video games but it really is a cool way to unwind after long work days.
I do like the game. I think there are some issues with it they can resolve but nothing that warrants the drama levels some of these guys seem to throw down here. It’s like taking away a teenage girl’s hairdryer drama levels.
