IDEA: Upgrading your car to a Forza Edition

As the title says, i think we should be able to upgrade our car to a Forza Edition. So this is how it would work.

1: Purchase the car you want to make into a Forza Edition.

2: Purchase ALL skill tree upgrades for that car.

3: Win 500 races with the car. This would be event specific so if it’s an off road vehicle you would need to win 500 off road events in that car for example.

4: Clock 20,000 miles driving it

Once the four steps are completed an option becomes available to upgrade it to a Forza edition for 1,000,000cr. Once done your car would gain a random roll ability and a slight boost in stats.

500 Races? 20,000 Miles? And, $1,000,000CR???

Not for me…

I was thinking something easier and having something like that for a weekly pvp challenge. But it is locked to user to prevent farming. Trying to sell in AH would revert to norm.

While i like idea being able to upgrade any car to forza edition car those numbers are just way too high. Do you have even think what kinda amount of gaming it would take to upgrade a car in forza edition? Even if you are able to keep avarage speed at 200mph it would take 100 hours and that would be just meaning using some spesific cars and spesific races to get that even that time mark. My avarage speed is 91mph so with that avarage speed it would take 220 hours of pure driving to reach 20k miles. and top of that ability would be random that is just even more stupid if spent over 200 hours driving just by one car and then rng rolls you bad ability.

I think it would’ve been more natural to just have the FE bonuses, upgrades, and body kit options in amongst the purchaseable skills.

That would defeat the purpose of Forza Edition cars. Chasing rare cars and collecting them is a very large part of this game’s replayability. If a player can just make his own FE cars, then the life span of the game would drop significantly.

I wouldn’t say that. I got the Forza cars easily, they have even gone down in price now.

Agreed most of them aren’t the hardest things to come by. Still, FE cars have an assigned “desirability,” to extend that to every vehicle just doesn’t make any sense for the game’s economy.

We just had the garage limit increase but it’s sstill not much more than the number of cars we’re going to end up with. This idea would almost double the amount of cars, and that’s more than the game can handle right now. In a perfect world, I’d be all for it, but this is more an idea for some future Horizon title with a new framework so the game save file isn’t more than 50 times larger than GTAV’s anymore.

Realistically FE should just be a badge anyway, not a whole car. Why you need a new car in the garage identical to the old car is a puzzle. It also makes sharing paints a bit more complicated.

Do you mean “should just be a badge”, completely unlike how they are now? Because right now FE cars are completely different cars than regular versions, much more than just a badge. I like how it is now, with them squeezing into classes differently because of PI. I recently tested S1 builds with the 2 Alfa FE’s and their regular versions. Lap times remarkably similar but the 8C builds in particular were drastically different. Like 9.3-9.5 handling versus 8.5 handling. The Giulia builds were more similar to each other, yet distinctly different. The Bentley builds were more like the 8C than Giulia in terms of how different from the normal versions they were.

Basically, you can put what appear to be the same upgrades on both versions and end up with different PI and simulated telemetry data … they are different cars, with different strengths and different weaknesses.

I never noticed any visual differences.

Not long until a certain hairy individual comes knocking at the door complaining Forza copied the Works Upgrade of a certain game.

It’s a cool idea but in current Forza it’s a bit useless since the FE cars don’t have much going for them other than the higher bonuses. In FM7 there are now lots of FE cars with unique bodykits, but you could simply add them to the regular upgrade tree and make it so having all perks gives your car a “Mastery Bonus” or something like that.

Well, I like to think that it still should be a reward for pvp championships. What if it was some upgrade? So you can spend earned weekly points on upgrades and attach it to the car. While it still ups PI more, it can push a trait a bit beyond default. So an FE wing for more downforce than standard, or buy FE tires, etc. Essentially you can shop the forza shop for extra special parts to attach.

Hrm… I must hit suggestions for that later…

My idea:

  • Each car has a several challenge. (Like 1000 Club of FH1)
  • By achieving all the challenges, a bonus of credit / skill boost is given to the car.
  • And that bonus is less effective than the Forza Edition.

FE conversion is may confuse Tune and liveries share system.
With such a system there is little confusion and I think that we can protect the exclusivity of FE.
Also, by linking these bonuses to each car like car mastery, we can expect a higher price when selling cars with these bonuses on AH.
