I wish Forza 7 would have been like GT Sport!

This is a feedback post, because supposedly T10 is listening to the community. Or are they?

Forza multiplayer races have been the biggest failure in sim/simcade racers out there, no matter the platform. Why? Many people state it’s because it has a much bigger player base than a proper sim on PC and people are really not skilled and don’t know what are doing. This might be true, but it’s just a small part of the reason.

See, GT Sport just arrived, it should have a player base of the same type of the Forza one on X1 and within a similar size, probably bigger. But respectable reviewers, people who are very used to proper sim racers on PC with very clean races, are saying that it’s probably the better and easiest online experience they ever had!!

Why, T10?? Why??

Because GT Sport delivered key features to make that happen and that we are asking for so long:

  1. Ghost system very well done.
  2. Qualifications, meaning faster (and better) players are in front.
  3. Ranking system, so people have something to care for and think twice in wrecking others, knowing that it will affect their ranking.
  4. Penalties well done.

I don’t want 1000 cars!! I want those features! And FOV!! 1000 cars is nice, I also like car collecting… but it’s way less important! I don’t want cars thrown out there to a game without a proper skeleton!

I’m not even asking proper weekend races, with teams, race engineers, etc; but at least the above listed features!

Those are features we have been asking for so long! What is your innovation? Stupid, bimbo and ridiculous driver gear, so you can fill in loot boxes and sell them!?

I wish I could buy a PS4 and buy that game, I really wish. Unfortunately I can’t. But I’m really disappointed with the way you have been not implementing game core and long requested features, iteration after iteration.

Give me Forza’s Single Player + Gran Turismo Sport’s Multiplayer philosophies in a single game and I’ll be a happy racer.

Sadly that’s never going to happen.

It wouldn’t be an extremely difficult thing to do, but Turn 10 and Polyphony Digital probably won’t bother.

If we could have a ghost lobby counterpart for all current races in MP, that would be great.
Don’t limit it to the “Hot Hatch” series only, but do it for ALL lobbies. Two for each series, one collision On, one collision Off, simple.
I’m sick and tired of those STUPID drivers knocking you out of the race at the first corner!
And if you are somehow able to fight your way back up the ranks, then there’s that STUPID driver again sending you off the track.

I don’t mind losing in MP to clean players., but I do mind when a halfwidth is ruining the race.
I rather be last knowing all the players in front of me are better than I am, and there’s “Ghost” mode perfect for.

OMG, how can one enjoy a rampage like that!
Waiting for a race… finally… and then entering a destruction derby event like that.
Frustration to say the least.

This is exactly why I stay out of multi-player. It would cost me far too much for replacement monitors, controllers, and having to fix/replace other stuff I’ve either thrown or thrown stuff at. Rage quit much?

I’m sorry, although i don’t condone this or play like this myself. That video without a doubt is 100% hilarious, I broke down crying seeing those cars flying in the air…

Pretty upsetting that’s Forza Motorsport SEVEN! haha…first thing im doing when I get in is playing that!

GT Sport looks great on a PS4 Pro however aside from that it has very little other redeeming features for me. I am a single player person, thus multiplayer does not do anything for me.

To ignore that player base seems very shortsighted in my view. Case in point I returned the game for a refund after realising this.

Forza 7 on the other hand makes me insanely happy as a car collector, lover of single player campaigns and gear head in real life. For that I thank T10.

If you don’t want 1000 cars and you prefear gtr’s multiplayer why did you buy FM7?
I liked FM6 multiplayer, that’s why i bought FM7…

I liked FM6 MP also but only the private part about it and never raced in any public hoppers…

Why should they make it more like GT? If you want Gran Turismo then buy Gran Turismo.

The mutliplayer is easily fixed in this game, just ghost out all cars for the first 10-20 seconds of each race.
This gives people plenty of opportunity to get away from the idiots and the pack should be more spread out even after just 20 seconds.
There may still be carnage further into the lap but at least it gets rid of the first corner issue that affects every single race in multiplayer.

They should bring a ranking system to Forza though, in the early days of Xbox and Xbox 360 there were proper ranking systems in games using Microsoft’s True Skill system but almost no game implements this any more, why not? It would be very simple to do in Forza, just give negative points for any time they are off track or a collision is detected and give positive points for clean sectors/laps, good/perfect corners, passes etc, the game already tracks all this information anyway in the form of drivatars so link to this thier ranking system in multiplayer.

lol, if turn ten gave you GT Sport instead of Forza 7 i’d hate to think of the backlash…Where’s i favorite car? OMG Refund ! Where’s my favorite track? OMG refund…what no Auction House?? i’m suing…blah blah blah…Us Forza owners are lucky to have what we’ve got…yep you’ve probably guessed i’m fed up with all the whinging and whining.

I agree to a certain extent, if we don’t complain they won’t work on fixing what we’re complaining about, yes all those features you mentioned is what makes Forza stand out from other games.

Why aren’t you complaining like everyone else? I’ma report you ;0)

Wow, I literally laughed out loud on this. People are so entitled these days. If I had a dollar for every “Where’s my [insert minor feature, car, whatever]? OMG Refund!” thread or post up on here I’d be rich. I don’t know why you’d ever want to be GTS. With Forza 7 most of the hate has been about loot boxes and PC crashes. People complaining about leaving out content need to look no further then Gran Turismo Sport. Even the new kid on the block, Project Cars is delivering a much more expansive experience with a TON more real tracks.

Forza 7 combined with GT Sport will be the perfect racing game for me. That said, I prefer Forza 7 over GT Sport, mainly because GT Sport lacks contents. I’m not talking about too few cars and tracks at lauch, I’m talking about the lackluster single player mode in the game due to GT Sport’s focus on multiplayer. I’ve always disliked multiplayer in any game execpt for co-op. To me multiplayer is nothing but hassle because I’m not able to do whatever I want, whenever I want. Let along noobs and idiots that will gladly ruin your experience one way or the other.

I agree that as gamers we are lucky to have all this lovely stuff at what is actually a very reasonable cost. FM7 is just so frustrating in that it should have been the best of all the racing games /sims (call them what you will) on Xbox One that are currently out there. Turn10 clearly have the budget and expertise ten times over. Personally if FM7 was Assetto Corsa with the Turn10 polish (which I thought it might be) then I’d basically disappear for a month and play it till my fingers bled - it would be fantastic. I simply don’t understand why we can’t have the FFB and the handling sorted, in my case for a Logitech G920. People say it’s to keep the kids and arcade fans happy - but hello?.. it’s much easier to drive a virtual car that actually feels like a real car than just a digital shape on a screen that you end up just plotting round the track - there’s simply no connect. Assetto Corsa is so enjoyable because the cars behave how you’d expect them too (and remember this was a PC to console version - well done Kunos Simulazioni) - this just isn’t the case on FM7. I know this is an inherent problem on Forza and everyone says play it with a controller, but I’m surprised T10 haven’t tapped into what I see as a genuine demand for all the strengths of Forza coupled with the realism from the ‘lesser’ titles. Kunos Simulazioni have shown you don’t need a £4k PC and £2k wheel rig to get a genuinely engaging experience - just an Xbox One and a £200 wheel.

I haven’t played GT since PS2 so I can’t compare. But on FM7 the silly dancing drivers and associated flab are just naff and personally I don’t see this perceived massive upshift in visuals - it looks great yes, but Forza always did. PLEASE get the physics sorted before I’m too old for gaming (which is now actually!)

Ghosting for only 10-20 seconds would mean the crashers will just crash on another corner. Full ghost mode means they can’t do anything but sit and rotate on their thumbs or actually race. This also goes to how some people ask for full simulation in the races to disable those vehicles, like actually full simulation. This could work, but then the ones who got hit are disabled too. But the caveat is having a tracker on how often the car is disabled because of crashes and then being temporarily banned,AKA timeout, from online races. Then of course it would be back to crying because they can’t ram others. Qualifying would work because the faster cars would be in front, well, that is until the rocket bunnies decide to intentionally sabotage their qualifying laps to get in the read or mid pack just to ram people.
Now a ranking system like GTS does, which tracks 2 different types of driving could work to put all of the rammers into their own lobby. They would have to actually race cleanly to get back into any position to be outside of their own kind. Pair this with a report function that people can report them for intentionally ramming which only pairs them with other crashers in ANY race and you have something unique.

Yes, i’ve played every Forza game. Including this…well it’s still a game but not enjoyable as I want it to be. I also have played every GT game that has come out, including GTS. Both have good points, and horrible points. Usually, I have found the multiplayer fun in Forza while the story/campaign was fun in GT. But with the new GTS, I actually like how they implemented it, forcing you to learn to race correctly with the penalties, off road stops, and everything out there. And if Forza did a video on online etiquette like they do in GTS, then with enough reports for intentionally ramming, just ban them. Easy as that. Yes, they could create another account, then pay to have that one upgraded to XB Live, but if they banned the actual XB, then they would need a new system. Thus getting rid of the headaches.

There are possibilities that could be put into place for practically anything and I am glad GTS stepped up their game, took a step back and went back to it’s original roots while Forza just steamrolled itself. Instead of just having a bunch of races that you can do at any moment, give us challenges, give us missions, and dangit bring back paying for damages to our cars so that we actually work harder for what we earn and let us become a better driver. I guarantee all of the idiots wouldn’t get too far if they had to pay for every repair on every car in every race. Period.
