I wish Forza 7 would have been like GT Sport!

I just want forza to be like forza. I do own GT Sport as well, solid game, miss the single player though

That’s funny considering when you look at the reviews between FM7 and GTS, FM7 got better critic reviews and WORSE customer reviews than GTS. So, FM7 is a better game but compares to be better to it’s customers where as GTS fails to get as high of a score than FM7 but is loved more than it’s fans. So…700 cars, a lot of tracks, and more unhappy customers % wise than that of GTS. That’s amusing.

And the physics between the two, it’s astonishing. Take a car and make it stock in Forza, then play it stock in Gran Turismo. I will go with something that I HAVE driven and I HAVE races around, and even sold in a dealership, which would be the MX5 Miata. Forza = Arcade driving feel, comparable to Need For Speed, or other games. Gran Turismo? Actually feels like the real car, even on a controller. Boy put that onto a actual wheel set up and I bet it would be almost a perfect match. Yes, Gran Turismo Sport wen back to it’s old roots. They revamped their series by going back to it’s original. What does that mean? Did you play the original Gran Turismo? They have about the same amount of cars. They also have almost the same amount of tracks. But you know what they don’t have? A broken game. Maybe harsh penalties that could be changed but not a complete, utter broken game in several areas.

So, with that being said, comparing FM7 to GTS is a complete and utter joke. Unless, of course, T10 decides to make Forza 8 resemble it’s very first Forza game with it’s bone stock analysis of everything, then you can compare it. Imagine, when Gran Turismo, if they had the chance, brought what they have in GTS and added it to GT6, Forza would no longer be a glimmer in anyone’s pants, or panties, because it would literally kill T10 in competition. Hands down kill it because then it would have the cars, it would have the tracks, it would have a track editor. It would have those online rankings, it would have private lobbies where people can set things up, and it does have nice, driftable tracks. Oh, and it has rallies. And I am sure you can easily drag race in GT. So, What would Forza have left? Oh, we have loot crates. Oh we have 4K and memory leaks. Yeah, ok.

I played the original GT on the PSX, and it was a beast of a game to start with, and getting used to using those sticks? Once I’d gotten a wheel though it was a lot better, but once you learned that this wasn’t a button mashing game, but something that had to be treated with care and progressive input it became a little easier. I STILL have nightmares about getting that RX7 around that hairpin in the licence tests… I still have GT2 somewhere, and a PS2 knocking around, maybe I’ll dig it out…

That RX7 was nothing compared to the Griffith 500. That thing was a spin out nightmare >_<. I’ve received all licenses in every GT game and I refuse to step online in GTS until i finish the campaign and so far I have the entire driving school portion to Gold and the first two series of missions to Gold. It isn’t easy but it is fun especially since you have friend leaderboards to go after. Sure, we can all get on and do 3 labs at brand hatch, but try doing 3 labs at brand hatch, without hitting a car, without going off the track, in under a certain time. Something Forza players will never know…

Oh yeah, the licence “laps” in either the TVR Griffith or the Dodge Viper, both of which over-steered if you did much more than look at the right stick… That Nismo 400R though, dog’s whatsits that was ;0)

Oh yes back in the day GT was a beast !

Indeed it was a beast. It offered what other games didn’t. And it still does in a way. I have actually, painstakingly follows GTS since 2015 and Gran Turismo was the main reason I bought the PS4 when it first came out. And knowing they went back to their roots, I am actually extremely happy with how the game came out. Yes it sucks what all the cars and tracks are gone, but they were revamping their game and took a gamble. T10 couldn’t come up with a gamble to save its life, hence why we now have a Horizon series. Sigh…

I loved GT2 and GT3, GT4 was ok, and I absolutely hated GT5 (still not sure why, although discovering Forza had a lot to do with it I think), so much so that I didn’t even bother with GT6…
I didn’t get an Xbone, so FM4 on the 360 was the last Forza I played (apart from FH3 which is a different animal anyway), and I have to say I loved it. It had so many races, it took me months to finish. I’m not sure about getting GTS yet, or even PC2. I will be getting NFS Payback, just to see whether they’ve improved on the last re-boot (which I also liked).

I like the balance that FM7 offers between arcade and sim. It can do both, but does the arcade style better I think. It’s more user-friendly and appeals to a wider audience than a fully focused sim, but in doing that, they’ve watered down the experience for the dedicated fans who enjoyed the sim style. Will have to see what this update gives us I guess ;0)

Both are great games but they’re very different IMO.

Content: Forza by a mile
Graphics: GT*** (compared on original PS4 vs original Xbox One - I have to imagine Forza looks better on Xbox One X than GT does on PS4 Pro).
Driving experience/physics: Forza. Cars feel more “numb” in GT, feedback in Forza is much better and you feel more “connected” to the car. Switching between Forza and GT is tough, at least for me. Additionally, the Xbox One controller is superior for racing games when compared to the Dualshock 4.
Sound: Forza is still king. GT is better than it’s ever been but it still has a ways to go.
Offline racing experience: GT - the AI is still a bit slow, but at least they don’t try to ram you.
Offline racing content: Forza. There is simply no contest here.
Online racing experience: GT - this has been covered extensively by others.
Online experience overall: tough to pick a winner - Gran Turismo’s “daily races” are cool, but it seems to be one of the only ways to quickly get into an online race with a full grid. The CPL’s in Gran Turismo seem to end up with like, 6 people max. Lots of lobbies with one single driver. With Forza, you can quickly get into a race with a large grid even though many times that equals chaos.
Focus on racing and driving techniques: GT. Forza doesn’t even try. GT is more of a teaching simulator, whereas Forza is a playground.
Overall feel/level of polish: GT. It just feels more mature.

Despite GT winning more categories, I consider Forza to be the better, more complete game based on amount of content and driving experience alone. GT is more “focused”, but lacks content.

Sure, it lacks content but it revamped the series. You can’t compare the two realistically unless Forza actually remade their first game. Why do I say that? Look at the stats between Gran Turismo (1997) and Gran Turismo Sport (2017) The have roughly the same amount of cars, with maybe a few less tracks. But, the game is playable, we aren’t missing content that was promised or shown in trailers compared to the full release. The sad thing is, some people have followed all the news on Gran Turismo Sport BEFORE Forza 6 even came out, yet it was still highly anticipated knowing that we were not getting as many cars, or tracks. That right there is a SLAP to the Forza franchise when a game can come out with less content then the game before it, 5 years later, and now, is basically dominating over it.

As far as car feels, I don’t agree with you. I have driven, raced, and sold Miatas (Dealership for a living) and I will tell you right now that Gran Turismo actually feels like the small car vs the arcade feel that Forza put on it. Between the acceleration and body movement, GTS has it hands down over Forza, which reminds me of a regular Miata that came out of something from Need For Speed : Underground 2.

As for the sound, looking at reviews, videos, and such, Forza barely outweighs GTS in the sound department which is funny but true. But where Forza has the upper hand is the backgrounds and dynamic weather. Some of the textures might look better, but lets be real and put this into real perspective. Forza is what, over 100GB now? And GTS is what…45ish GB. GTS outshines Forza without the bloatware of additional crap like and gives what most of us want. A car, a tuning area, variable options, and a track to play with. The chat doesn’t force you out of a party chat. The online is pretty much flawless, but their penalty system could use a little tweaking.

On Amazon GT sport is £44.99/$59
Forza 7 is £39.99/$52.50
Gt sport looks more like a demo.

It’s a no brainer.
