I have some traffic now but I don’t feel it’s as busy as FH4. If I stop on a road I don’t get 2 MINIs and a tractor come banging into me lol

It’s Horizon Solo vs Horizon Online. I was playing for days online and only saw other players and went to solo and there’s so much AI traffic to the point it’s not very fun driving around as they just get in the way. Was better with no cars. I switched back to Online and they all disappeared.
Quick fix in xbox series x with gamepass - switch to solo (offline) and restart the game.
This should return all npc traffic back. Worked for me, I had no npc traffic at all before as well
I’ve the same issue as well. The devs might have been trying to reduce traffic compared to FH4, but it’s too skewed in the opposite direction. Hope they fix this bug.
I’ve been getting the same issue but it seems like my game is stuck between online and single player.
Because I won’t be in an online session but at the same time I’m not in single player but I can’t join to either one of them until I restart my game.
I may have partially solved the mystery, I was hunting for npcs in an apparently empty map and found some merrily floating about 30 feet above the road. I hadn’t realised I should have been looking up …
Guess they’re trying to load in and getting stuck.
i had this happen to me as well. i took that opportunity to do all the street races lol.
Got to set your world to offline mode, lots and lots of NPC will spawn around you.
I normally play in Solo mode, so when I first start the game, the AI and Drivatars are there.
When I go online to play any mode such as Playground Games or Horizon Open, as soon as I am finished with those games, I come back to an empty map.
I check and am indeed in Solo mode and if I go online again, it doesn’t matter.
Only solution is to restart the game which is ridiculous and just don’t play online, which the seasonal Playlist is needed. Honestly, it seems Playground’s QA team are mediocre. We’ve been saying this since Forza Horizon 2 and it seems nothing has changed over there.
I think it has to do with all the constant server disconnects, since cars are synced up between players so that they see the same traffic when you lose connection then bam you lose the traffic. Playing in solo is the fix; but Turn10 really needs to fix these servers for an ‘online’ game. I have seen plenty of sketchy mmo releases in my days but never have I been just unable to see anyone.
No, it isnt.
I have the same on PC version. But switching to Horizon Solo does not make any difference! Roads are almost empty!
On X Series X (I don’t have game pass) I don’t have this problem at all.
Hi everyone,
My internet connection is pretty poor most of the time (3rd world country
) so for the most part, I’m playing this game offline. I know that when you’re offline there are supposed to be AI racers that you can compete against in head to head races. They were present when I first started the game but now there are none on the road at all. It’s just me and the generic traffic. It makes the game feel pretty empty and less fun. If there’s anything that I’m doing wrong can someone please help? I play on PC
The NPC’s must have pulled a Free Guy and gone on strike ![]()
yes i have the same problem (xbox series x). virtually no NPC traffic cars. makes the world seem very bare and unrealistic. driving down a completely empty highway with not a car in sight in either direction is pretty lame
Yeah barely any traffic. Even when you do see a car it vanishes before your very eyes as you approach it.
lol, same here. Sometimes i dont have traffic at all. Not npcs, not drivatars, not people. Just a big empty road. This game keeps piling up problems by the minute :s
and when i have other players in there, i cant see their cars because they are in ghost mode ALL THE TIME… so.
I had this issue last week, where I had zero traffic to pass to complete the chapter. I did it last night, and there were cars now. I thought it was fixed from the hot fix. I also noticed if I went really fast, it was not counting the cars I did near miss. I just kept restarting the mission until I was able to complete it. I ended up just doing about 150mph down the highway, and ended with 45 cars near missed. Xbox series S.
I play almost single player modus as there is npc traffic - also no loss of skill points if the connection to the server isn’t stable enough.
Yup the last patch broke completely the npc traffic for me. Before, i used to see npc traffic and drivatars all the time, not many but still. After, not a single one lol. Not even in solo mode… (but well that word fits, "solo). lol.
But, whatever.
