I cannot use my Season Pass

I’m writing this topic because I have a big issue with my Horizon Season Pass. As I can read on other topics, I’m not the only one with that issue.

I bought the Season Pass on September 16 on Xbox Live Marketplace because it was on sale. Because I was playing other games during this sale, I didn’t launch the game immediately and tried to access the related contents a couple of days ago. Sadly, I didn’t see the EOL warnings on October 20. But, I have the Season Pass installed on my disk! I downloaded it before DLC removal.

For the record, Season Pass should give me access to

  • 5 exclusive cars
  • October car pack (6 cars)
  • November car pack (6 cars)
  • December car pack (6 cars)
  • January car pack (6 cars)
  • February car pack (6 cars)
  • March car pack (6 cars)
  • Rally Expansion

When I first noted I cannot access any of the cars, I began to interrogate myself and tried to access to Rally game mode. With no success, for a simple reason : I didn’t have related files installed on my disk. I both tried on Xbox 360 (with physical disk) and Xbox One (GwG, back-compat).

I contact Xbox Support. They double-checked my purchase and my attached licences: I have licence for the Season Pass AND for the attached DLCs. Since I obtained these licences before DLC removal, I should be able to download these DLC to use them ingame. Sadly, this is not working. As Xbox support said, there is no problem on their side: I have the licences and I have the rights to download the DLCs. Problem seems to be located on Forza Horizon side.

Does any official Forza team member can try to sort this out?
Or at least tell me you’re working on it to fix this issue?

I bought a content and I really want to play with it!

Give away Forza Horizon in GwG program in September, doing a sale on related DLC on September, and removing those DLC 1 month later? Really ???
Are we only cash machines?

Request a refund, you aren’t getting your content, to put it as simply as I can.

I don(t think it’s acceptable. I want to play this DLC.

Since there is no apparent problem for those who bought DLC directly, I think an acceptable solution is to give away prepaid codes for these DLCs. With those, I (and other with the same issue) can download and use those DLC

It’s really annoying, but it can’t be helped.

Remember that Season Passes are meant for discount on future content. And it’s your responsiblity to download said content. It’s the same as owning a code from a retail box and never redeeming it.

I don’t like Season Passes that much to be honest, they are like saying: “hey customers! we are totally realeasing six paid dlc for this game in the upcoming months!”

Read about it in other threads and you’ll see that you still can have most of the content you want in a legit way.

That’s not the problem.
All DLC can still be downloaded by the ones who own the licences. I have the licences for all of these DLC but they aren’t recognized ingame!

I checked the downloable state with a friend: he signed in on my console and since he bought some DLC a long time ago, without the season pass, All his DLC has been downloaded on my console. I do not have access to them because my licences are not recognized but the files are now present (some of them)

Was the EOL announcement for total EOL? Because I my gold membership ran out in August and I haven’t been on since then till now. What I’m worried about is whether or not I can still buy the digital copy so I don’t have to switch discs every time I switch games. The main thing that’s feeding my paranoia (if you can call it that) is that when I visit the Xbox store, the marketplace app throws the “this game is not available in your country” message. I never purchased any of the car packs, VIP, nor the rally expansion because I migrated from 360 to Xbox One (completely). And now that I can play it on Xbox One through backwards compatibility, I was expecting to be able to buy all of the old DLC.

Reading all the threads about season passes not working and all has my hopes down even more. In addition to reading the EOL status, not knowing if I will be able to experience the old things I couldn’t afford back in 2012.

Complete EOL, gone to never return.

Does the definite EOL also inhibit me from doing a license transfer or gameshare to get the DLC I missed out on from someone who purchased it? I’m assuming I can still do that because the EOL means it and all of its DLC should just be removed from the store.
