not really any new ideas here… just hoping for some opinions…
If you mean ranked for the purpose of match making, it still wont be useful as the game will get depopulated in few months.
from what? why can’t it be, alternatively the means for not depopulating…? FM2023 is going to be an ever expanding game as far as I can tell…, updated continuously… this isn’t suppose to be anything like the previous versions. And even if you were right, as there are 1 million players online in FH5, and a 1000 on forza 7 (that has discontinued sales and updates) an old system rank such as ELO you’d need like only 30 people to fill each rank… there’re various ways to also fill rank via skill as well, its ultimately up to the developers but I can’t see a roughly false population prediction, a fall out to determine whats needed for a racing game.
There were Leagues in FM6 (not sure about 7). They weren’t perfect but would be a good option. Maybe have more tiers and include some kind of safety/sportsmanship rating to stop the folk who use powerbuilds, and then other players to brake and corner, then wallride to the end.

heh… i never found that option when i owned it… perhaps, if it really, @EamonEejit, wanted to be successful, they should focus on what you said. And probably give it some -auto- live stream meaning to more frequency instead of something monthly … perhaps?
FM7 had leagues but without a penalty system anyone could rise to Pinnacle, the highest ranking. They would just cut in the ghost league. Since we will have a penalty system it needs to be part of the leagues if they have them again. In FM6 if you were pinnacle in ghost you were not the same level in collision. It was separate but this was not the case in FM7. FM6 also gave you more points for getting clean laps and driving clean but again in FM7 this was done away with.
I really hope there are CPL’s (Custom public lobbies) then you can just run your own lobby with friends in public and kick out whomever joins that does not behave. That’s the way it needs to be. There will not need to be banning, reporting, people making multiple profiles just to wreck etc… if the lobby runner has control. Makes life easier for everybody. Less banning less headaches for the players and Turn 10 but they have been very stupidly stubborn about this. That’s how GT works and Forza did until FM5. It baffles me why they were done away with. The worst decision ever made for a racing game.

i think forza horizon 5’s, despite macro rubberbanding, has a flying chance at ranked or competition… the fact that forza 2023 is a whole new build with room for artificial intelligence, the ghosting feature from forza horizon 5’s horizon open to predict collision, it’s parameters might be rather simple but its very affective… there is alternatively more fair game play only to respects of having the option… ur more likely to see people who take it seriously in competition settings… the sliders for that kind of programming, could be trimmed a bit for side rams, which might be rather simple… peace!
