I hear a lot of complaints about winter, especially when it comes to road racing. However, what people don’t quite appreciate is how winter makes road racing accessible to the drifters and rally drivers. Group B monsters suddenly feel good on the road and the mixed surfaces keep you on your toes. There is a disproportionate amount of content in the Road Racing Series and for 1 week, it is open season.
To be honnest, i used to same car during winter that i use in summer (RWD Nissan Silvia A800 Handling build) and i’ve notice almost no different from the summer. Just had to brake slightly earlier (as if it was raining in any other season).
So in my experience at least, i just see winter as a white-themed summer as far as gameplay go.
Cross country tho, thats where its at during winter!
I would complain about winter but I just create Summer Blue Prints for the courses I want to race… problem solved.
I live in an area where we experience some pretty harsh winters… so, having it in the game is no real pleasure. So for Free Roaming (which I really like to do) I spent a lot of time just building up skill points.
I really dislike driving in 1:1 scale in the winter. I hate it even more when I am driving in the winter season in the game.
I like the winter (I was a big fan of Blizzard Mountain), but the night time should be longer and off-road drift zones should have wider area, where the drift points are counted. If those 2 little problems would be dealt with, then it would be close to Blizzard Mountain experience.
