as above. how long should it take to 1st install the game on to console xbox one. mine seems to be taking hours??

I can not remember but do not start to play the game when it says its ready. Let it install and update to 100%.
Yes, at this stage = HOURS! And there is another update coming later this week, too. As was said, let the downloads and updates complete to 100% before doing anything. Do NOT play when it says “Ready to play.” Let it finish. And if you’ve downloading, do nothing else on the console, just let it go. Other activities may interrupt - pause - any downloads.
With the size of the game, it can take hours.
If you are a DISC user, might I suggest installing in offline mode. It will speed up the install. Then, once 100% installed, connect to the internet and grab the Title Update. Wait for it to finish 100% before playing. This decreases the DISC content install time to around 25 - 45 minutes, then you simply have to download and install the update which is much smaller in size, though at this point, I think it’s around 10 GB with all the content add ons.
If you are a DIGITAL user, you must be connected to the internet to download and install the game and the updates. Again, with (I believe) 6 DLC content updates, the initial 6.7GB day one update, and the actual 40 something GB install this is quite a lot of volume to download and install and depending on your internet connection, this can take some time. Just wait, be patient, and let it finish to 100% before opening and playing.

This is the trouble with the XBox one system. They may have mega quick and huge usage in the US but in other parts of the world there are restrictions and slow connections.
So it can take hours to download. As stated make sure you download it completely before attempting to play it.
This seems to be the most important part as so many problems seem to be steaming from not doing this first.
