I really do like Forza games, but Forza Motorsport 7 is still buggy beyond belief nearly 8 months after release. Who’s brilliant idea was it to require the game to load each car’s 3D model when selecting cars from your garage? Somehow after an online race I ended up looking at the back of the lobby menu. It was backwards as if the camera were positioned behind it. Cars fall out of the sky in the background of the multiplayer lobbies. There’s still no penalty system! The bug where the race starts before everyone is loaded in is still there! How underfunded was this title? How was it released in such a bad state, and how is it still in such a bad state???
I’m just bothered with the game not running well at 1440p Those stutters are killing me. I’m sure both of my rigs are above the recommended requirements. Unless they lied about those.
Menu thing baffles me. They’re taking advantage of Microsoft cloud technology but it’s not yet mature. So if you have lots of custom designs the menu is awful to navigate, which does not happen in the Buy Cars screen for example.
One thing I must also point out is that in both FM6 and FH3 it’s very easy to search for designs because they all load very quickly. Not the case in FM7. Tune results remain buggy.
The visual glitches on cars are what annoys me the most but those have been discussed at length.
Few things. Is a car falling out of the sky in the background really that big a deal? No. Penalty system is coming they have stated this. There are still a lot of bugs remaining but improvements are being made and hopefully the July Content update fixes that.
Op is right. Almost 8 months. penalty system should not have taken 7 games and to figure out and the menus do make the game incredibly derpy when you just want to do something as simple as pick a car and go race. Forza still gets a lot of things right, but in all sense of being fair, it does a lot wrong. Hopefully, you are right and the July update will fix some stuff, but I would not hold my breath. My theory is there will be no major changes except the penalty stuff they have mentioned, but I cant see the menus ever getting better, not as long as everything they do is centered around BorzaRC.
100% agree. The penalty system should have been here at launch. I was very vocal here when they announced it before launch as the “adjudication system” and it never showed up. It was bad marketing, bad game design and should be here by now.I don’t hold my breath either for the July update. I’m just saying a car falling from the screen at Sonoma is so unbelievably minor it’s not even worth mentioning compared to the vast of things that is still wrong.
As for the menus, that’s an easy fix. Just make it either a picture of our cars and give us the option to “view car” like FM6 did if we want a 3d representation.
The penalty system is a long ways off. They showed of track limits weeks a go and nothing since. Haven’t even seen contact/dirty racing penalties. The track limits things, while necessary, isn’t the bigger issue of the two. The ramming curbing needed to happen first…but judging by what they said when they showed of track limits it is being treated as the lesser of the two systems.
The penalty system should have been at launch is an understatement. People have been asking for it since the original Forza.
I couldn’t agree more with the menu being an easy fix, and with all the complaints about it truly begs the question of why it hasn’t been addressed so far. I would just like to see a focus from the team on making the game stable, instead of this foolish amount of time on announcements and stuff for RC when the main game is clearly not running smoothly. To me it demonstrates that their focus is only on the one thing they care about, not many of the issues that their community is bringing up. As a fan of the series, it is painful to see the game take this direction to bolster viewing of their e-sports over the quality of the product released. This was not the forza I had been waiting for on pc for years.
The 3d cars thing is just awful. Just bring back car photos if you’re not good enough to make a smooth system. Geez.
For every patch that came out they wrote that they improved the car selection speed. ROFLMAO. Literally nothing has changed since the release of this game. I keep pressing left and right to go select my frigging car and it takes at least 4 seconds to go from 1 brand to the other. So I just have to settle with 1 car for every track.
Wrecking, reporting and penalty system (I’ll just copy-paste what I just wrote in another thread):
They will tell you to use xbox live reporting system. They say an xbox live employee will connect to the same online session as the griever, analyze his behavior and then suspend him if necessary.
Blablabla. Never worked for me since Forza 5. They only take action when they see proof, like a written message with insults, threats, racism and stuff like that.
They will tell you to use the in-game reporting system (in the lobby select the name of the player and then report bad behavior).
Useless. No action is ever taken. Those very same players crashing others are allowed to race after days, weeks and even months.
Again, I’ve been reporting using the first method since Forza 5 and also with the second method since Forza 7 came out. My opinion is that it’s just a waste of time, especially now that it’s summer. Nobody at T10 or Xbox Live cares anymore.
There was also a Marshal program to monitor players behavior in lobbies with selected volunteers but I rarely saw them when the program was announced. Some hide their marshal badge, but honestly I’ve never felt their presence since the wreckers keep being in the lobby for many races with nobody taking action.
At the time of Forza 5 and 6 there were members and staff of this forum who would check the saved replayed you sent them and then suspend/ban wreckers. But now they don’t do it anymore.
