Had forza 6 so many bugs at launch?

Hey forza veterans,

A question for you as in the title. Was it true for previous forza or even the older ones? Forza 7 was released few months ago and the updates we get fix really minor issues. I am really shocked how things are solved (ignored?). Do they really care or expect things to work in the next forza?

I am quite new to forza so just wanted to know some history…

There were but not quite like FM7. At least FM6 was stable. I think the biggest issue at first was a glitch when you upgraded the differentially after AWD swapping a car. The car would magically gain stupid acceleration.

If you’re referring to clunky menu and searching design, that’s been an issue since FM5. FM7 just managed to make it worse.

Never had bugs in any Forza so I wouldn’t get any on PC even if I had a PC good enough

Well, the remove spoiler option on the Viper ACR never got fixed and the Chally HC still sounds like a blender cycling through the different speed settings.

I’ve enjoyed FM7 from day one however I struggled to enjoy FM6 and FM5 for that matter.
The biggest problem for me with FM6 was in the career races. First place would always be considerably faster than the rest of the grid, that coupled with all races being short meant I found it often impossible to win a race in a way I found enjoyable.
This game definitely has its bugs which shouldn’t be there, that said I’m enjoying it more than any previous FM title.

That’s because FM6 and FM5 career mode was garbage. It looks like in FM7 thought was put into career and it came out better.

This is where opinions start differing. If you’ve isolated yourself to single player and possibly have never played 360 era Forzas, FM7 is the best. This biggest complaint would likely by locked cars and laggy load times of car garage.

Oh if people only knew about overall leaderboards, clubs, and ability to search paints/tunes by the best sorts ever (most recent, oldest, highest rated, etc.). Not really single player stuff but the stuff that was popular by both player types.

They’ve always had bugs that get reported and not fixed.

Forza 5 had a sound bug where after a couple crashes or just sveral minutes of playing, the game would start having these distorted cracking sound. Never got fixed.

Forza 6 had many little car bugs that don’t seem to be gone. For example in Forza 6 people noted that many cars gain weight when you take off the spoiler. Notice those bugs aren’t fixed for Forza 7. It’s like they used the exact same broken math from 6 and used it for the coding in 7.

Also remember the Titan from horizon? Rims would add thousands of pounds and they never fixed it. They said trying to fix it would mess up other stuff… Why not restart the car from scratch? One car can’t take too long. [Mod Edit - Defaming removed - D]

I have played all the Forzas & Forza 7 has more bugs than all the others put together. This edition puts the Forza brand fimly into the Project Cars territory where pre ordering or buying on day one release is not recommended.

As far as complaints go the odd number Forzas have always suffered.(maybe a different development team?
Forza 3 was spoilt by some horrible AWD conversions with 4 wheel drive conversion Vipers & muscle cars dominating everything.
Forza 5 had a low car & track count because it launched on Xbox one.I bought it about 5 months after release so it was a pretty good title by then.

Forza 4 is by far the best title to date IMO.Increased car & track count & more options for individuals e.g.Custom lobbies & choosing every car in a private lobby that you can race against & worthwhile leaderboards.Very few bugs.

Having looked at the posts on this forum about Forza 7 I think your experience depends on the way you play the game & on what machine you use.I dont use mods, open loot crates,Forza vista or care about race suits.Would be cool to be able to delete or hide those tiles in menu & let us play how we wish but developers dont want us to choose they seem to want players to play how they choose.

Playground Games made a horrible search feature for Horizon 3 and Turn 10 thought it was a good idea to make it even worse by removing the Storefront.

I do enjoy the suits but I find the “Pop Culture” ones unnecessary for the most part. It’s worth noting that pre-war, vintage as well as multiple variants of driver gear you’d see on an actual racetrack are always welcome and their development should be encouraged. Things like the Ninja suits probably should not.

That horrendous search feature started well before FH3. I want to say it all started with FM5 but may have been FH1 on 360.

The storefront on FM4 was better than that of FH3. You could endlessly browse storefront to storefront and see everything they shared (tunes, paints, photos), and also see which were sold out and how much each tune or paint was. It was beautiful.

FH1 was almost a carbon copy of FM4’s storefront. It was the last time we had it. FM5 started the dreadful “sharefront” thing we have now.

Thanks. Much appreciated. I couldn’t remember because I didn’t play FH1 long term so it was hard to remember.

Why? Its just a video game, the costumes are just for fun. If you want proper racing apparel get a simulator like PC2, Forza is simcade mixing realism with typical videogame ‘just for fun’ stuff.

Forza 7 is the worst Forza to date. I’ve never bought a Forza on release other than fh1 and I’ve never experience bugs in any of them except for this one.

Every FM i have played have had bugs, but FM7 takes the homerun in that division.
I was in a privat lobby a couple of Nights ago with two guys that i havent played with for a while. while he spended allot of time to browsing trough the 3D cars… to be continued … when he finnally managed to find the car, he’s game CTD. He’s next words were **** this I remember why its been a while, you lads wanna join payback? lol
I didnt join payback tho… but still, this ‘‘insident’’ is kinda typical in FM7 sadly in my experience. I know some poeple dont experience much issues, but in FM7 allot of People have… More than the regular count. The ‘‘crew’’ i played FM4,FM5,FM6 with are long gone from FM7… just saying.

That said, its been a while since I enjoyed the career mode this much as i do in FM7. Thats a fair point.

Turn10 can’t seem to develop or fix the chat feature for multiplayer lobbies.
maybe Playground Games will teach them someday how to fix it!! it sucks seeing all these names appearing when they talk and you can hear 1 or 2 of them. You disconnect your headset and reconnect it and now you hear new people but can’t hear the previous ones. geez!!

Yep, this game was the straw that broke the camels back for me.
Forza 1 was the reason I ditched my PS2 and bought a Xbox.
It pains me to wash my hands of this franchise like I did with GT.
Forza Motorsport has become the CoD of the racing games.

Forza 7 is quite unstable compared to 6. It was rare Forza 6 crashed for me but in Forza 7 I’d say it’s almost a daily occurance. Apart from that, they’re both relatively even. Both had multiplayer disconnect issues and both had livery glitches but one thing for sure is the menus in Forza 6 are substantially quicker.

Weird. ive been playing it every day since xmas day on Xbox one s and it hasnt crashed a single time. Even waking xbox up from sleep and playing, it just works.
Maybe you need a new console or fix your computer if playing on one.

I have the OG xbox one and it hasn’t crashed since Christmas either. It has nothing to do with the Xbox owned. All Xbox models are subject to this problem.

The only thing that has been consistent is laggy browsing of cars, missing paints, wrong car showing up in the garage (picture is different from the car title), slow loading of tunes, tunes/paints not able to download (game-wide issue), and laggy selecting cars in multiplayer.
