Worst motorsport game to date

I was racing quite happily online with randomers and when I was on the last lap the game crashed. Now this is not the first time this has happened and to be honest I am getting a bit fed up with it. This is not the only reason why I’m saying it’s so bad but it is one of the reasons. Turn 10 you reaĺly screwed up with Forza 7 as it it broken and unfinished.

Not the worst games, but easily one of the worst roll-outs of a AAA game in recent memory. Bugs and crashes like never before in XBX 1 and close to uplayable on PC, the VIP debacle, the Hoonigan bate and switch, the loot crate controversy, the tyranny of homologation, the extremely limited multiplayer options … Long list of things that should have never been an issue for a 7th iteration of a game (plus 3 gens of a spinoff).

There was no Hoonigan bait and switch. It was advertised as a digital pre-order exclusive for FM7 for the beginning.

What was the Hoonigan bait & switch? I bought Deluxe and got all the Hoonigan cars as expected. Of course, I also expected a game that didn’t crash every 5 minutes … but no surprises with Hoonigan cars.

i hate that especially when u painting your think they do a update since so many people sent so much money on this game disappointed

To the best of my knowledge paint booth issues seem to remain unfixed or are bottom of the list of priorities. The current line up bug is unforgiveable on a section of the game that has had such scant attention over the years.

“Tyranny of homologation?” Now I’ve heard it all. Even in its current state, FM7 is a top 3 series game for me. With everything added and bugs fixed it could be the best Motorsport game. With a wheel it’s already the top MS game.

If you leave out all the bugs, this game is about 25% of the game it could be with some decent direction at the helm. SP is better, but still pretty yawn and MP is and has been terrible since the hoppers came on. Add in the lack of hotlapping, disappearance, and to me it’s pretty easy the 7th best FM available. It’s really a shame since I thought the physics had some potential.

Yep, this is my favorite FM yet, and with the 2x VIP being permanent now, it’s even better.

But then again I’m on Xbox one s at the moment and zero issues. Never had a crash while in game or playing. Over 56 hours of driving and 5k+ miles behind the controller/wheel, off line and online.

It feels like Studio 10 had a hard deadline, and the game was not finished. The number of problems one quickly encounters in basic game play makes me shocked this game made it past QA. From the bugs, to the hologation system, the the hopper choices, I’m thinking FM6 is still a better game.

Yes, I would agree with you. I think the decision was just made to “ship it” with enough band-aids to make it run…and they ran out of band-aids! And so far, I like FM6 better.

The cars’ physics are good. They drive really well with a level of grip that wasn’t there in FM6.

BUT…

They need to add class-based racing back, full rivals (classes) with ghosts, leagues, fix the “save” tuning bugs in Test Drive, and MAKE THIS GAME MORE STABLE.

Hi,

  • I think that Forza Motorsport 7 is a great game. This is the first Forza Motorsport Franchise game that i have played and i love it. The Graphics are great and will be better when the Xbox One X comes out. I am a big car guy and love the sport of racing, so i really like this game.

  • You need to understand that EVERY game crashes on Xbox. You make it seem like Turn 10 did a bad job with it because of a crash, but in reality it is just your Xbox.

  • You mentioned that the crash is not the only reason you dislike the game, so care to share the other reasons, because i think your just going on a little rant because the game crashed on you. FM7 has probably crashed on me 6 times probably in the 1 week i have had it. But i can just start it back up and enjoy the game for what its meant to be, a Racing Simulator.

Peace,

Koenig

Yes games do crash but Forza 7 crashes all the time. You want me to explain why this game is bad. The race callander is short when turn 10 announced it was the biggest they have in a game but yet it took me less than 2 weeks do do every race and I have not finished the Forza 6 calander. Lack of cars, no auto upgrade on the car mods. [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]. In free play the test track is a track only not open like Forza 6 was. I download paint jobs from Forza 6 onto Forza 7 and I can edit them but some say they are lock even though they are not. Paint jobs disappearing, cars disappearing. [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]. Truck racing is the colander was disappointing.

I’ve had my One for 3 years and I’d NEVER had a game crash until this one. Sounds like a PC fanboy.

I’m not the biggest fan of homologation, but “the tyranny of homologation” is being a bit hyperbolic, but the rest of the post has a lot of truth in it.

I think if Turn 10 got the game working correctly, I’d consider it a fairly decent game with some design choices I don’t like. Definitely not the worst game once some issues get sorted out, but probably the worst launch.

I think my comment has been misunderstood, maybe didn’t choose the right words. I actually like homologation, especially in career. What I don’t like is not having more options. I like racing by classes, and I also like racing by category (compacts, supercars, hot hatches, etc), but without always having the limitations set by homologation (tire size, HP, tire compund, PI, etc). I meant tiranny as in lack of freedom. Again, I do like homologation, especially in the career.

Also, having pretty much only homologation hoppers is a travesty.
