I wouldn’t view things like that as “gamers punishing studios,” but instead as consumers voting with their wallets.
Company decision-makers sabotage their own business & their own staff when they decide to pursue goals that conflict with what buyers want.
When decision-makers get to keep their jobs after making lots of high-impact bad decisions, it won’t help the company to lay-off the people who had no authority in the decision-making.
Notice how they have to do that video in chase cam vs. driving in the cockpit of the car and then showing it on replay cameras. This is because T10 has been entirely neglectful of racers who actually want to drive the vehicle and still haven’t given a proper radar or spotter. Noone at T10 uses cockpit. Just once, I want to see someone at T10 take the cockpit mode seriously and do these training videos or sponsored streams with someone who drives the car.
I think that is good that there is no direct toxicity going to the devs , but it is limited in the Forum.
When you want to highlight an issue, you should give direct information of the user and hardware, All I see is just people coming in, complaining without saying if they are PC or Console, If PC, their configuration, system Software status, most informations to direct the DEVS to the problem to troubleshoot.
When you post, the Question other people should not ask:
What is your system?
Did you Update your Hardware?
What is your OS?
Is your Harware doing other activities? (Streaming, downloading, ect, ect)
But when they start asking this, that means, that is a Post that doens’t help anybody and doesn’t deserve DEVS attention, becasue it is a waste of time.
Sorry if this touches your heart and offends someone, but it is normal in software development.
Sorry if this touches your heart and offends someone, but doing extensive testing and filling out detailed bug reports with step-by-step instructions on how to reproduce problems “is normal in software development” for paid professional testers - that’s not a job for paying customers to do.
Consumers do not buy video games to have their recreational time ruined by doing the unpaid work of professional testers.
Game companies should do more testing themselves (with professional testers) before retail launch so that customers don’t experience so many issues to report.
The more people keep defending problematic games, the worse games keep getting because game companies know they don’t need to bother with much testing themselves when customers will pay to do that work for them.
I work in the automation industries, even if you buy thousands of Euro of license for programming a Logic Controller, you can still find some glitches and Bug. When you have to report this issues you have to report the entire harware configuration, Serial Numbers, firmware and location, more information the better.
Yes You pay for the product, but now you get yourself a Lifetime support.
I can Understand on the Console side, you have to deal with one configuration, But on PC it is 100% garanteed that something will not work, plus there are those that see written 4k on a 1050 and pretend to play everything at 4k, going do bottleneck the system causing a chain of problems
Games will never come out perfect, you are only unlucky that the game doesn’t work for you.
BUT I’m in favor of Game Demos, Every Game developer should release a Demo of the Game to start solving this issues.
Bugs are to be expected. The problem is the abysmal response time for game breaking issues. Particularly on PC.
A significant number of people in this forum ( a representative sample) have reported, since early release day, that the track (and other textures) is disappearing or becoming transparent or reflective (depending on RT settings). Seems more likely to happen if you have lots GPU VRAM overhead (i.e. higher-end hardware)
I consider being able to see the racetrack as “somewhat important” in a racing game. I would hope that the creators feel the same. Yet we’re now 2 weeks past player notification and 1 patch in with no fix. Why is this? It’s obviously something that can be reproduced very often.
So if 191 of the forum goers have upvoted this bug. And the number of people in this forums are a tiny sample size. Imagine how many other users are experiencing this game breaking issue?
Any reasonable amount of pre-game release testing would have discovered this. So either they aren’t testing properly or they did discover it late in the build cycle and decided they needed to ship anyway.
When three or more individuals report or complain about the exact same issue, the type of hardware or operating system becomes irrelevant. From my observations, 99% of reported issues fall into this category.
Yeah boycotting won’t do a thing, they don’t care. They have our money and will do whatever hairbrained idea that they come up with other than listen to the fanbase. KUNOS will shame them into submission I’m betting on it. I recently saw a new batch of screenshots and they look unbelievable, with their rep at stake it’s gonna be a sweet game. I’m not really sure how big Kunos is, but I know it’s a much smaller studio than the one who came up with this fomo-fest and I’m sure they care about their actual fanbase, thay always have anyways. Buying their game and shelving this will be my form of protest, not that they care or will take notice anyways…
I certainly hope Ac 2 will be a good game but going by kunos’ record its usually not the case when the games are released. Ac was successful due to mods, the base game is lacking in content and would never have lasted this long. Acc was an absolute mess for a couple of years, but little by little it improved and its now a great gt simulator.
I wouldnt expect it to be able to compete with gt7 or forza even in its neutered state right now. Ac had around 18-19 tracks, acc has 25 with most being dlc. Ac had 178 cars half were dlc and acc has 102 including dlc.
The console ports are notoriously bad and will be an important nut to crack as theres millions of potential customers playing on consoles. As of now theres no release date confirmation for consoles.
I’ve uninstalled the game today. Man I’ve tried to get into it and enjoy it but it’s just isn’t any fun. The previous version was a lot more enjoyable to play.
I gave up and uninstalled 3 months ago and come back to check in every now and again to see what’s new. This game was/is a slap in the face to all veterans who loved the previous iterations, especially 2,3, and 4.
Funny enough this franchise was my entire reason for being on Xbox and after my subscription ends in 1 year I’m done entirely. Going after their wallet for the next game is the only way to get management’s attention, I’m done with it all.
I thought I might try the game if this update looked interesting. But this update was anything but. And for the way the customer service, forza support, and this forum management has treated me. It will be a cold day in you know where before I spend another penny on anything Microsoft related.
