How can Forza 6 be Graphically improved?

I know that a lot of people said that they want the graphics for Forza 6 to be improved but what points exactly need to be improved. What are the poor graphics that need to be fixed right away.
My biggest bug bear is that the game is too saturated.

Better tiresmoke effects.

I read the title of this thread, and was going to say exactly that!!!

After agreeing though, personally dont think the graphics need much at all, it’s the environment that needs to have the ante raised. We need weather and day/night, and if that means that we keep the current graphics, and 1080 at 60fps, then I will be one happy little Forza nut

Totally agree that the environment needs a update. It was better in Horizon 2 but not good enough in Forza 5. Even the sky was better in horizon 2! There was really no change in the sky for different tracks in forza 5. I know they didn’t have rain or day night cycle back then but they could have made the sky look a little more extreme just to add a bit more to the game. I know that that is a funky thing to say but if they are going to have rain and a day/night cylcle, there going to have difffernt skies for different times of day and conditions, kind of like horizon 2’s sky, but better and more extreme.

Agreed about the saturation, unfortunately it`s their recognition feature.
I hope they will simply open up the options from photomode for the whole game, that way everyone could adjust it to personal taste, down to retro racing in black&white.

That aside lighting and effects could use some upgrading. And anything to make it look more alive.
Day/night/weather at 60fps +1080 seems somewhat optimistic. I`d be already happy with a day cycle from early morning to late evening and weather from clear to cloudy, just to get some visual change.

I agree about the lighting system. The reflection on some cars was poor in Forza 5, especially on cars that hade crome on them. Horizon 2 did a better job on reflections I think, but the game was even more saturated than forza 5 and there was still not enough light reflecting of the crome on cars.

I’m fine with FM5, for the most part. The cars are fine. I’m more concerned about getting day/night and weather in without compromising anything we already had in FM5, including 60 FPS. Take FM5 visuals, add day/night and weather, do it convincingly, and do it at a solid 60 FPS.

I think you may be on the wrong track here. Forza 5 and Horizon 2 look great and sure there could be improvements. That said, there are many things that need to be focused on to carry Forza into the future and I’m sorry the graphics are not it at this point.

Some things that are needed include cars and tracks. Some of these cars, if possible, should be non road-legal cars like we had in FM3 and FM4.

Turn 10 should really look at what they’re doing with Project Cars and see what they can pull from that to help improve Forza. They should also look at some of the other racing games that PC players enjoy and see what can be effectively brought into the Forza franchise. To start, customization of lobbies and filling said lobbies with AIs for both on and offline modes needs to be looked at. I’d like to be able to have a race (offline) on one console with 2, 3 or even 4 players and in a setting such as the track this should be possible.

That’s the last thing they should do. The little I’ve seen of PCars looks like every other driving game since PGR (weather aside) and driving games run the risk of being way too similar anyway. Forza should continue to be Forza. we already see the same tracks and cars so if visually and physically they get any closer we’d just have the same game by different developers. T10 know how to make a game and it’s just a case of whether the direction they move in suites us personally.

I don’t want them to make a shinier Project Cars by any means. You must admit that looking at Forza 4 and Forza 5 the customization options are lacking in the newer game. Whether this be for offline play or online play the custom lobby settings took a turn for the worse. I don’t think it’s making games too similar to see some of these changes.

For example, I’d like to be able to set either the lap count or the total race time. I’d like to be able to run a multi-class race. I’d like to set restrictions by make, model, drive type, body style, championship series, PI, or even usable upgrades (ie. NA only, or must be turbo).

I also think that the two player system wasn’t as good as it could have been and was added more as an after though in FM5. I know not everyone may agree with me here, but I’d love to have an amazing two-player one-console set up. I can’t always go online nor do I always want to. Sometimes I want to be race against the person that is sitting next to me and I shouldn’t be punished for that. Not everyone can afford two consoles, two games, and two TVs just to play locally nor should they have to. It would also be nice that if the local multi-player improves that we could not only do two people per console but as many as 4.

Isn’t Forza “Where Dreams are Driven”? Yet with this last iteration of Motorsport the amount of cars that I will never drive and could only drive in the virtual world of Forza decreased considerably. I enjoy driving the GT Cars, the Touring Cars, DTM, LMP and Formula 1 cars because in the real world that won’t happen. Most of those cars tapped out for FM5. I do enjoy racing the cars they chose to include and I know it was a launch title so I’m hoping for FM6 to bring all this content back.

To address the lightning. I’m not 100% sure what it is that needs changing so I will try to describe it. I understand why Forza Horizon 2 uses white text - white should be easily visible on any color. But, with the white and yellow text it is very, very hard to see against all the white surfaces and the sky in FH2. To make the text partially visible, I had to massacre the settings on my TV input and this does not always guarantee text visibility. This doesn’t happen only with the text but it’s the clearest and easiest example. Having to change the settings so drastically however ruins the experience for other games and then each time I want to play something else I am going in and changing the settings again to revert to something that works.

I get what your trying to say and I agree with pretty much all of what you saying. I have played every Forza game and my favourite was forza 2. Oh the memories  . But since forza 4 I think the franchise has took a wrong turn and mainly I think in graphics. Forza 4 wasn’t over saturated at all, it just wasn’t next gen. Sure of course I want more content, better physics and features, there at the top of my priorities too but I think they can solve the content issue easilly. Forza 5 was a launch title so it was rushed, but the content in horizon 2 was great especially considering it was an open world game. Just look at how much content it had over horizon 1… a huge improvement and I think they have allready spotted our dislike at the lack of content in forza 5. Even looking at the quality of the content at horizon 2’s dlc it was better than forza 5’s simply because there were less recycled cars and way more new additions to the game. I don’t think content is an issue now, because I think they allready know there was too little of it, I think the problem are now graphics, features and physics. I think out of these for me it’s features and graphics that fall short but like with the content issue I think they allredy know they messed up and I think they are allready adressing that issue, but I don’t think there looking into graphics as much as they should do.

If you are talking about graphics and physics than I have to disagree as much as possible. Have you ever played Project Cars? I’ve got the game for my Xbox One and I can assure you that Forza 5 car models, environments, lighting and physics are noticeably better than Project Cars. Project Cars wants to provide too much features, but it simply doesn’t do anything at best:

Cars:
Sure, you have more cars on track, but the car models are not superior. Compared to Forza 5 you have less Level of Detail in the game. That results in more corners at the wheel houses, less geometry, noticeably worse texture resolutions.

Lighting:
Project Cars lighting is very bad. Forza 5 did the break through and managed to get a very realistic lighting on the cars and track.

Physics:
PC gamers will claim Project Cars to be a Sim, but just because you have some more options doesn’t make it a Sim. For example, if you drive against the guardrail in Project Cars you simply bounce off and your car jumps back on the street. You can cruise over grass with virtually no effect and the cars simply don’t feel right. And Forza 5 provides the best force feedback I’ve ever seen. In Forza 5 you really feel the car and every corner of the track. Project Cars can’t match the same force feedback quality in no way. And I really can’t image that Slightly Mad Studio has the same telemetry data of cars to do realistic computation of physics, but nothing more than some very generic computation.

Weather:
Project Cars has rain, yes. But the quality it looks is nowhere as good as DriveClub (PS4) or Forza Horizon 2. Sure, Horizon 2 has not as many raindrops on the windshield as Project Cars, but the quality of the raindrops and the streaking effect of the windshield wiper is much more realistic than Project Cars. In Project Cars you really notice that more raindrops are drawn onto the windshield and then some part is removed and the windshield wiper animation is quickly triggered. Even DriveClubs rain is the best weather system. Forza Horizon 2 might have a less immersive rain experience in cockpit, but with Storm Island DLC it provides a very good rain experience in the outer camera, because you really see the rain whip over the area and the whole vegetation is moving with the wind (trees, grass). So at the end, I really can live without rain in Forza 6 if it has such a low fidelity than Project Cars. And really, what are the bubbles on the outer camera in Project Cars? Soap bubbles? Certainly not raindrops.

People always pick and chose the quote and ignore what was actually being said. I did not say P. Cars had better lighting or better physics. What I said was maybe Forza shouldn’t worry about improving too many aspects of the graphics because the graphics in FM5 and FH2 are pretty good. If they maintain these graphics, keep the framerate where it’s at, they could maybe look at the options provided by other games and help improve the gameplay. Perhaps they’ll even make a game that similar to FM4 - I mean, outside of graphical improvements FM4 was better than FM5 in my humble opinion.

As for graphical improvements, isn’t it time that some of the car body glitches in the paint house were addressed? The cars have been rescanned and remade for the new-gen and they still have the same silly little errors in places?

I think many of the graphical issues that plague Horizon (major things) don’t occur in Motorsport 5 due to the nature of the game and the way it’s restricted to the track. I would be looking at little lighting details, headlights, shadows of the vehicles and how they interact with the environment around them (side mirror shadows in particular)

Someone that speaks sense
Agreed

1080p 60fps
My Main bug is the lowered resolution in COCKPIT
Also more detailed tracks, cockpits, and especially environments from driving views.
And please add day and night cycles, as well as weather

I just came up with another thing that I think forza 6 could improve on in terms of graphics and thats damage. Forza horizon 2 had better damage than forza 5 but I think It’s time to get a litte bit more extreme, maybee doors faling off, bonnets and boots falling off and more bumpers on cars falling off. I know it’s a lot to ask and more than likely wont happen but even if the had more bumpers of cars falling of it would make the game look better… after all it is next gen

Any tips on which manufacturers would be happy to see more damage represented on their licensed content?

+1. That was going to be my exact response and then I scrolled down and couldn’t contain the laughter. You beat me to the punch.

I try to help though, so on a more serious note here is my list of manufacturers that wouldn’t mind if we added more damage to their licensed content:

Tata, Trabant, Tatra, Marussia, GAZ, Bahman, any Greek automotive company…

I don’t think reliant robin would mind either.
