I wouldn’t anticipate any great leaps in graphical improvement from Forza Motorsport 5 to Forza Motorsport 6. That said, developers on the E3 floor are known for demonstrating games a bit beyond what they’ll be like as a final product–that is, after all, why they are called “demos.” For this reason, I would suggest taking gameplay from these sorts of conventions with a grain of salt and the expectation that the game overall (not just graphically) will change one way or the other before it releases in the Fall.
I expect it to look a little better. Not much, just a little.
They’ve had two years since they developed FM5 and everybody knows launch titles aren’t usually the prettiest. Plus, Direct X 12 will probably help squeeze out a little more overhead and being allowed to finally abstain from integrating the Kinect might help, too. I guess they’ve all seen Drive Club and know they’ve got to deliver a little bit more than last time, graphically.
On the other hand, if weather and/or day / night-time cycles should really come to pass that might actually take up more processing power. T10 also kind of “limit” themselves by their 1080/60 standard. Which is a good thing, imho. Well, actually honestly I’d enjoy a 720/60/better-graphics-version a little more than a 1080/60/FM5-niveau-graphics-version.
Edit:
Well, I just read that Direct X 12 will be released at the end of this year and even then most developers won’t integrate it right away. So yeah, maybe that’s not a factor for FM6, then.
You would think it will get a big upgrade as it’s quite a poor looking game. Personally im hoping they go down the realistic look rather than the over saturated over stylized look Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon games are known for.
As opposed to what other 1080P, rock-solid 60fps racing games on consoles? There is really nothing else to compare it too, even 1.5 years after it launched.
Project Cars is the closest thing, and it has problems holding a steady 60fps.
This is a racing game and as such that should be the emphasis.
However, it would be hilarious to hear a convo among gamers on how the game sucked, yet one would bring up how beautiful the foliage looks on a few tracks.
I highly doubt we’ll see a big difference, especially if they’re attempting to bring day/night cycle,if anything just more detail, wouldn’t be surprised if they hit there high graphically already.
Think about it,if they plan on implementing a day/night cycle as well as weather I don’t see them having time to make a huge upgrade graphically, more detail and maybe fix the plastic like look of the paint is probably all we’ll get.
They would of started work on Forza 6 months before the release of Forza 5 (This is how game devs work before anyone questions it) so really they will of had well over 2 years making the game…Forza 6 will not be the rushed job that Forza 5 was. Forza 5 graphically really was just Forza 4 but in HD infact Forza 4 most likely had better textures as if you look at the roads on Forza 5 when racing no textures are on the road. Also if you look at comparison pics you will see how very close 4 & 5 are graphically.
Forza 6 will be a big step up graphically it has to be.
I’m not saying it won’t happen but even if they had 2 years graphic’s may not be there main concern, there trying to add more tracks and (I hope) as many cars that were in FM4 as well as a number of other brand new features along with probably adjusting the physics,I don’t know time will tell all we can do is wait till E3 to hopefully see some gameplay footage.
The only reason why i would think FM6 would look like the E3 build is because of how much time they had with the hardware, even though the builds were ran on PC.
