HLR HLCs Series 3 - That's All Folks, Hope to Return Next Year

This is well above my paygrade, but every train needs a caboose, right?

Thanks for joining in Squryl, and a very good time that I’ll find hard to beat!

Thanks; I have no doubt that you will…I’m always bracing for the next HLR-notification :slightly_smiling_face:

I had to switch to the Trailcat to do it.

I shared the setup that I used, which has a race gearbox, but only stock brakes. I decided that most of my braking was a dab here and there, with just one hard application just before the finish.

Ack! Life suddenly happened and I didn’t get a chance to revisit Edinburgh until a few minutes ago. Just for fun, because I know scores already posted, got my RWD, no aero McLaren F1 down to 2:23.961, just behind ForbiddenBeef! See you guys on the City Outskirts!

Feels the HLC standard is particularly high this event. Less than 48 hours gone and there are 11 HLC times in the top 25 overall (with over 3,000 previous entrants). I’m 11th overall but only 5th in our event and last in Tier 1.

I managed to slightly improve last night but was also finding a lot of varied ways to mess up quicker runs. Will move away from the Trailcat for a while now and see, over the weekend, if there is anything else competitive.

Nice one everybody! I like most of the Edinburgh tracks so this was alot of fun. Thank you to anybody that gave anything I tuned a go!! I dont know if it means anything at all, but unless I looked at the sheet wrong, I’m still on a 2 year old controller, no wheel.

Looking forward to this next one, hopefully I can start getting my driving up to par!

I forgot how bad I am at XC tracks. Wow! I retuned my Trailcat, the one I had shared prior was for playing around in the mud and dunes. The new one is a little more handley, lol. Need a little tweaking but not bad. I’m at 1:57.618 for now. I’m gonna try the trucks next. Is that Regalia off limits?

You can use the Regalia Zepp. I haven’t excluded any of the Extreme Offroad vehicles, including the Track-Tor!

Well, I’ve surprised myself but I’m at a 1:53.213 with my shared #37 RJ Anderson Pro Truck. There alot left in it as I’m not quite confident to stay in it when I really can.

I’ve also shared a surprisingly fast Arctic Land Cruiser, a couple Regalia Type Ds, a couple Trail Cats. I’d appreciate any feedback of y’all try em out! Good luck everybody!

Tried most of the other vehicles in class. Only the Bowler and Jeep DD seem sort of competitive (1.44.5 being my best in the DD and I could take a second or so off that). Back to the Trailcat for my next set of runs I think.

Great runs!

Got the Nissan Titan FE down to 1:46.406. Right now it’s only tuned to PI 878, gonna work on bumping that up without losing it. Would be curious to see what a good driver can do with my build! Great fun everybody!

Managed to drop a bit more time in the Trailcat - down to 1.42.436. Platinum’s tune. Think any further improvements are going to be very hard work as that felt a good run for me.

Zepp - tried your Rockstar and AT37 tunes:

Rockstar - 1.46.4
AT37 - 1.47.3

Potbox - I don’t think you are too far off maximising that tune. I only just edged you in 1.45.706. If you can make the most of the other 22 points to get it up to 900 if will be very competitive build!

Thank you for the drives, guys! Much appreciated. I cant bring myself to go the V12 route, reeeally don’t like the sound of it in this game. Plus that 7.2 is a beast.

I had to auction house a Bowler, should be shared. (I can’t do the 10 plus mill DD jeep with my 2 mill, and I don’t have the stats to sell my cars at those stupid high buyouts.) I’ll make sure it is, but it’s a quick one. I can never decide on being all nimbley bimbley with handling and low weight for XC or if stupid power and a little bit of hulk smash weight behind it is better. But either way, I’m just jazzed I’m sorta hanging in there this week! …sorta, lol.

Hey Jezza, thanks for driving my build! That was cool of you. It’s good to know the build isn’t too bad and that I’m just a bad driver

FE versions tend to have less PI efficiency than normal versions of same cars, although in some cases FE variant can offer more PI-efficient upgrades than normal variant.

normal Titan is capable of maxing almost every upgrade with V12 swap while FE version u would have to make do with no intercooler, no brakes and sport transmission to reach the same 900PI.
On the other hand I also compared normal Titan V12 and Racing V8 quick builds with no springs/dampers tuning, the more-PI-efficient Racing V8 might be slightly quicker on this track despite maxing out at 893PI.

TDUPlatinum, your builds scare me lol. Glad you’re contributing to this thread, definitely making me think outside my box.

The Jeep DD is a prize for one of the seasonal championships this week Zepp, so you might want to do that event to pick up a free one.
