Help Needed With Indy Oval X Class Tune

I have put hundreds of laps down over the past 3 days on Indy in both the Chevy and Honda Indy cars but can only reach the top 398 scores. I used HBR Roadhog’s tune to do that and it works great but its losing out in top end acceleration to the #1 driver’s Honda. I come out of the first and second corner head to head and then he just cruises past me on the straight away. He is not hitting the apex right and I could shave a bit off his time with his tune but I don’t have it. So I’m wondering how can I get more top end acceleration. It is whining out at 242 mph and his goes faster with more acceleration.

The only thing I can think of is that the tune has some serious toe and camber adjustment that is slowing it down. With the Honda I have tuned it to use one gear which whines out at 242 as well but if I put it one increment higher it goes slower and doesn’t reach top rpms. I have set everything else to create as little drag as possible but I’m not seeing the speed and acceleration that the #1 driver is getting. He must be going like 248 and is accelerating faster than mine which tops out at 242.

Any tips or ideas?

You say he isn’t hitting the apex perfectly, but are you sure he doesn’t have slightly better exit speed because of his line? If you catch him into the corner but lose him after the exit it sounds like its a difference in driving line.

I doubt its a difference in alignment angles, although I do recommend neutral toe.

I use the same exact line he does and we go the same speed all the way through the corner and then when we have straightened out completely he accelerates faster and to a higher speed than mine will. Its a very sweeping corner and you don’t lose anymore speed putting your apex closer to the inside corner I have tested it. But I have been copying his line to the very detail and his car is just faster. I don’t see how he could accelerate faster given that mine is geared a tiny bit higher. Some sort of tuning magic going on I guess

You may want to post your tune so it can be looked at, people here will give you good pointers.
