Heavy Metal Affliction - Rutledge Wood

Posting this a bit late. But if you have not read my story on Rutledge Wood please give it a read. He is a cool dude!

John

When I first started reading this HMA I was only somewhat intrigued, but then I saw the Plymouth emblem and I woke up. I am a Mopar guy from birth. When I was born I came home from the hospital in a 12 second 1968 Roadrunner, so, I really liked this article. Rutledge is my favorite of the U.S. Top Gear hosts and to see that he bought this ultra unique 2 door Suburban(?!) and dropped in a stroked 408 small block with ~450 hp is just the coolest thing ever. I would have never in a million years thought to do that. But he did and it does encourage some out of the box thinking as I contemplate my next project car. I was planning on building a 1969 Dodge Dart with a 500-600hp small block to drive on the street. But maybe I’ll do something different now thanks to “The Expert”.

Btw, did you hear his car in the video at 0:43 as he accelerates? My goodness… Sounds amazing!

Thanks for this HMA!!!

That exhuast sound in the video is wicked! I love it!

I love Rut! He’s an awesome guy with a great personality that can really relate to the fans and car lovers out there. He’s just a really simple, down to Earth guy that loves cars. Glad to see this HMA on him and his Plymouth wagon. What an amazing car! That’s what I love about Rut so much is his unique taste in vehicles, but being able to bring the best out in anything. Wish he did more with Nascar like in the past, but love watching him on Top Gear USA. Keep doing your own thing, Rut! It works!
