head tracking and TrackIR

i like to play forza in cockpit view but i always notice there is a blind spot , usually the window support or roll cage will block a turn , i was wondering if was possible to turn on head tracking even if you dont have a kinect or what ever is used to track head movement , but set it to track the suggested line , even if you dont have the line turned on the camera would pan to the line just enough to give you a better view of the turn ???

They had this in FM4 but I don’t think many people used it, thus it hasn’t been included since.

I don’t like that they’ve made Kinect almost obsolete to where it’s nothing now but a glorified mic. I paid good money for Kinect only to see it become defunct. But yeah, head tracking would have been a good use to put this piece of equipment to. Bummer!

You can expect this topic to kick up from the PC side if TrackIR isnt implemented.

This would be like a look to turn setting. Pcars has this feature as well as automobilista but not as pronounced. I dont think it’d be difficult to implement the question is would they do something like this. As with anything else its always nice to have more settings to fiddle with. From the demo we can see theyve added a lot more camera shake in the interior view, which Dan said can be turned off. I just hope that there are sliders for effects like this so people can tweak what they want instead of just an on/off switch like many things usually are in these games.

I really liked the head tracking feature in F4. Not sure about forced head tracking though. I like to have control of where I’m looking which is why the Kinect was perfect for it.

I would love to be able to use my ED tracker in FM7. Sadly it seems like something we’d have to complain about for 4-5 titles before they would announce it as a grand feature on E3 2027 as they claim they listen to their player base and now have adjustable FOV, headtracking and KM/H + Hp combination.

One thing they need to change is having to press forward on the and then left or right to look around when in cockpit view. It doesn’t make any sense.

so you could set your view to track the line in 4 i never , saw that option …???hmmmmmm…

It was an Xbox 360 Kinect feature. I never had the Kinect so I wasn’t able to try it.

-k

The kinetc head tracking in 4 was ok. It become tiring after a few laps though.
The problem i found was when you turn your head you end up looking away from the screen.

Project cars has a subtle camera shift towards the corner. It is barley noticeable but it helps greatly when approaching a bend.

Bingo! That’s the problem… What I would like to see is the use of multiple screens to see out both sides of the car.

(Ok, a bit expensive… but it would be soooo cooool!!!)

I have Track IR, it would be awesome if was supported. Anyone have any news?

Is TrackIR goin to be supported for FM7? I can’t find anything recent on the topic.

I need to know if TrackIR is supported? I am ready to buy the game but missing TrackIR support is a dealbreaker for me in any simulation.

It’s a shame really, even being able to use the mouse to look was available in FH3 so you could kinda get head tracking to work but even that isn’t available now - in a car came… SMH.

I usually play flight sims and have TrackIR. It’s fantastic. Just discovered Forza and I’m hooked. Yes having support for TrackIR in this game would be great. I hope they consider it.

Wasted potential is the hallmark of Forza.

Such wonderfully detailed interiors.

Steering wheel only rotates 90 degrees left or right.

Can’t turn wipers or headlights on or off manually.

Documented well in these forums.

Manually turning had light on or off should be a feature, though it wouldn’t surprise me if this came into FH4. Manual windscreen wipers would be cool. The wheel definitely needs to turn the full 1080 degrees. As for track IR, I’m 50/50, though it would be nice if the camera angled slightly towards the apex when turning to reduce blindspots, though I feel that POV and FOV adjust-ability would fix this.

Bump. Please implement this for horizon 4 and add it to fm7
