Quick question: Kinect support? [see post #2]

Is there head tracking at all? I use it often find it immersive personally. Thx (in Forza 6)

I provided the source answer for this in the FAQ. Mechberg stated there are no specific Kinect functions in FM6.

Thx. Kinda sux. To bad many don’t like the Kinect for some odd reason. Seems like any tech that involves a small setup by the consumer is much harder to survive in a lazy world we r in.

Will try vr tho

It’s not the set-up that’s the issue. It’s the poor performance and annoyance of the Kinect system during most games that is the issue.

My suspicion is that there will be no support for Kinect. The reason would be because I think turn 10 is using the extra CPU chip, that was used for Kinect in the past, to run the weather and 24 cars.

It seems Kinect has just died to be honest, notice how Microsoft seem to have pushed it into the background as of recent

As a Day One supporter, I am very disappointed. 1st party developers don’t even want to support Kinect. I didn’t care for Kinect, but it was bundled with the Xbox, so I kind of feel cheated. I did read that F1 2015 may support voice commands.

Bummer that’s the only way I can see who’s next to me.

Hey guys,

I was looking into this earlier but could not find any info about it.

For those who have kinect, is there a headtracking option for Forza 6 like there was for forza 5 ?

Thanks

Not sure if it is in there, though if it is then I hope it’s nothing like Forza Motorsport 5. It wasn’t even head tracking in 5, you had to tilt your body which was rather bad. Even FM4 had it better where you could look left to right and it would work.

I hadn’t even thought about it but now you mentioned it head tracking would be great for my wheel and seat setup :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve got a quick Kinect question. My Kinect seems to disconnect (turn off) every time I launch FM6 and I have to sign in again. Is there any way to stop this?

I get exactly the same thing. Soon as I boot FM6 the red lights turn off and I cannot get a picture back until I reboot the xbox.

Though if what the above poster said is true and FM6 uses the extra CPU power the kinect needs. There needs to be a better way to boot it back up again.

I thought that another kinect had bitten the dust.

As with Forza 4 and 5 , does anyone know if it works with Forza 6

I believe I remembered a time when the Xbox one and forza 5 was coming out and they had videos showing how you would be able to drive through the Kinect system but I never really paid much attention to it. I drive with a wheel and mostly use cockpit view or hood view as it the best to alert what direction the car is pointed in to be able to correct oversteer and understeer. I do a lot of online racing and hate the fact that I can’t see where cars are next to me. I thought it would be nice if forza had an alert system like some arcade racing games that tell u the position of a car that’s next to you but I also thought it would be nice if forza had made use of a head tracking system through the Kinect that could turn the drivers head when you turned yours. Like the system called track ir used on pc.

Forza 5 had head tracking… Sort of. You’d lean left and right to turn your head in the game. It was pretty lame. I’d assume Forza 6 also has it, but I haven’t looked for it in the settings.

Yea I can’t find it in the settings. This would be a great feature to add back in the game as in the beginning of races in completely blind to what’s going on around me

If Forza 7 doesn’t have Oculus Rift support, Microsoft and Turn10 should just quit video games.

I think turn 10 could take notes from the Corvette C7R race car. Other then the LED illumination for traction loss(which is awesome) check out the screen to the right…notice the GREEN, YELLOW, or RED ARROWS on top of the traffic cars in the monitor. It shows green is a slower car(yellow is questionable)…and red, means its a faster approaching vehicle. I think this is one of the coolest, and modern race cars I have ever seen inside the cockpit. Something like this, for all cars would be pretty awesome.

Yea I find it really weird that this game developed so much energy into the cockpit view making it to where all the cars have one but then make it impossible to view anything around you. I mean it woul be nice if I could just program the directional button on the wheel to change views but only having the y button to view behind sucks. The rear view mirror 90% shows what’s behind me but side view mirrors are almost no where to be found in most cars I use. We really need some type of alert system for cars around us. Even if u implement a nascar radio system lmao. I personally do not race in any view other than cockpit or hood so yea i could use some help with that.
