Tonight I went into an S-Class lobby. The first race was at Laguna Seca. On the first lap, the 30 degree turn going uphill before the corckscrew, I got a good run on someone who had hit the brakes way too hard. Following the meter on the left of the screen, I realized I was about -8 feet behind this person. We’re head to head up the hill, and at the peak, the person dips right to get into the proper breaking zone for the beginning of the corkscrew. They swerved directly into my front end… we both went spinning, with me taking the bulk of the time to right my car and get back into the race. 2nd lap now. Shortly after the double apex at the beginning of the lap, I get another good run going into 4. Thinking I’m finally going to pass this person, they once again fail to realize they are being passed and dip directly into the inside line. This time I manage to hold it, while the other person goes off track. Again, later on the 2nd lap coming up to the final turn, the hairpin, I’m getting a decent run on another person. -25 feet and closing. He brakes early, I swerve left to get the inside and break late since I’m driving a Zonda and my car can handle it. The guy dips into the inside line, spins himself out, I recover and keep on moving. Third lap, no incident here, just a 3rd place finish. Ran the fastest lap by over a second and a half.
The race ends and we go to the lobby screen. “Vote to kick: Big Papa Cropa.” I yell at the TV: “WHAT THE HELL IS THIS GARBAGE!??!!?!” I walk away for a bottle of water, come back, and I’m kicked. 2 people spun out because they dipped into MY line, and I’m the one who gets kicked.
Channeling my inner Walter Sobchek here, AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO GIVES A DAMN ABOUT THE RULES!?" Seriously, where did all the good, respectful, clean, attentive drivers go? I’m tired of driving against people who have no clue how to race.
