Grind to unlock a game that you've paid for is NOT progression

Forces players to partake in a grinding fashion of play to accumulate some kind of points or credits to “Unlock” content in a game that you’ve already paid for in full is one of if not the main reason a player will put a game down and give up on it .

A pointless grind just to accrue a Car or upgrade that you want is not progession and it certainly is not any sense of rewarding feeling …it’s just simply painfull.

Racing game progression comes from purely racing . Progression and a rewarding experience comes through championships modes and career modes , getting through them and trying to win trophies and accolades and tinkering with tunes and upgrades with the cars and tunes you want . Not painfully repeating low level races trying to get credits to get the content cars and tunes you want so you can then go onto play the game you’ve paid for … By paying for it again with painfull torture ??? No . That’s not a game …that’s plain rubbish !!!

Perfect example of how to do this right is Project cars and I’m sure other racing games have this right . Nothing is locked , No credit system everything is available and you can actually focus on playing the game not grinding it . It’s a fantastic and rewarding and progressive experience .

Turn 10 there is so much content in your games that no one is seeing except for a small portion of it and people are turning away … Such a waste and such a shame .

Forza … Abolish credit …abolish unlocks and holding back the content . Let players play the game and actually use what players have paid for and focus on racing all these awesome cars and upgrades .

I know this game has its bugs that are being worked on but even if that’s all fixed ya not gonna boost ya players base . People wanna race with what they’ve paid for … Not a pointless grind for hours just to get crumbs .

Fix ya bugs , abolish unlocks and credits and I’m sure many will not be able to put this game down .

yeah this system is awful. Will say F1 games have a pretty fun progression system for career mode in a sim style game. give me something like that

They are going to add micro transactions mark my words.

How else do you explain the wording in the community update.
“It is clear from looking at feedback that while many of our players are enjoying the system as is, for many others it isn’t delivering the upgrade experience that they expect from Forza Motorsport.”

They will validify it by saying “we have given the fans who want faster progression the option to buy TOKENS to skip car leveling.”

They had the option to do away with the CARPG aspect the momnent they rolled it back to half of what it was. That would go against the microtransactions that they want to implement. How else do you figure they can justify they LIVE ForzaMotorsport logic to the game. Somkething needs to bring big revenue to keep the game going.

Unfortunately T10 for the Motorsport Franchise Isn’t The same as it once was In the Good old days of the X360 Era & I Think It’s a Real Shame that The Series Is At an All Time Low Of Its Popularity. If T10 Truly Cares about the this Game they Need to Pull their Finger out of the Hay & Double Down on Feedback & Fixing The Game.

It definitely looks like that’s what this approach was designed for, but I think they tried something like that back in FM5 & ended up yanking it out because the backlash was so massive.

Considering the low player count, in-game monetization wouldn’t make any money.
Few players in a lackluster game = no buyers for micro-transactions.
…They’d first need to make the game astronomically better to bring enough players back for monetization to even be a viable idea.

Disagree. Grind is only grind if you dont enjoy playing the game. I cant get over how much Im seeing people complain about driving in a driving game.

This is a joke:

All of you need to turn that mindset into a GRINDSET!

If it was a good game I would njoy playing it.
The AI is brutal, that is one of my biggest beefs.

Plus I am not going to allow them to collected my data saying that I am playing and ENJOYING the game.
I am disatified and will not participate in the game until it’s fixed. Though I will continue to berate the game on all social media until the time they decide to listen to our voices of discontent.

I can’t get over how much I’m seeing people who don’t know the difference between grinding & good gameplay.

The time to introduce MTX for non-cosmetic purposes was at launch, not after the fact when the userbase is dwindling and a large portion of those left is clearly not clamoring for the game to be more expensive.

The first few months of updates have already been budgeted, considering there was/is clearly a plan to add content over time. At least, that’s what conventional wisdom and corporate governance would suggest.

Forcing that kind of MTX now wouldn’t make any sense. Committing resources just to alienate whomever is left doesn’t make any sort of sense.

But if the plan is to make money long term, the strategy is resolving the most pressing issues rapidly and regaining players’ trust. That’s possible, and a few updates and a renewed marketing push can make that happen.

How else do you explain the wording in the community update.

Easily. You just don’t admit your idea was fundamentally bad. The statement is as vague and noncommittal as humanly possible so it can’t truly offend anyone. It’s just marketing.

Grind is grind, even if the game manages to trick you into not realising it.

Although for my money, I don’t actually enjoy driving cars stock with floaty suspensions that I can’t tune or upgrade. I also don’t enjoy driving cars stock with too much power and no grip. I don’t enjoy either that any sort of fair competition would retire either stock cars or hours of preparation.

Turns out what I, and I presume a few other people as well, like about Forza isn’t just doing laps chasing after an XP bar so I can find out if I can build a race car I can enjoy racing or if I just wasted my time.

What if you dont care how long it takes to unlock level 50 cars and enjoy playing the game in singleplayer? I simply set up different races with different car classes and race to have fun,in the end I had a boatload of carxp for said cars.Multiplayer is not for everyone.

After FH3, it took them a couple of years

So then there’s no point having xp then is there ?

It’s just in the way for those that want to race with different cars and parts . Not racing with the same ones over and over and over until you finally got enough xp to get one more car or part !

Certain leagues and higher level races in careers and championships unlock yes for sure …when you win !
Trophies and accolades and winning is the progress that should be rewarded … Not pointless grind for points or xp !

I don’t mind grinding so much in single player modes. It kind of reminds me a little of early Gran Turismo 1 & 2 days when you start with a banger and gradually improve it into something more competitive.

What I can’t stand is having to grind for multiplayer upgrades. In a recent lobby you could see people running the Porsche 550 has a clear advantage over the field. I wanted to give it a go to see if I would get on with it too but of course I can’t without grinding for a couple of hours first to unlock the upgrades needed.

I hate the grinds to unlock these cars in the monthly events. The cars should be added to the store to be purchased with credits after the events end. That way you can either grind to get the car for free and be the first to get one, or buy it after the event ended.

I absolutely despise locking cars away or these unicorn cars. It’s a game. Let us drive and enjoy the cars we want. It’s not fair if you don’t have hours to grind out these events or are away and miss getting a car you want. I really hope these cars start getting added to the store soon from the monthly events.

Grinding isn’t fun!..when are game developers going to realise this. Games should be fun and not like doing a chore or a job, people don’t have time for this nonsense. Seems more common than ever in modern gaming.

I haven’t played any motorsport versions since Forza 1 dropped on OG Xbox so I no dog in the fight about motorsport. But… the grind is why I absolutely cant stand playing GTA online anymore. What started out as fun just turned into another job. Work all day just to come home and work more trying to build up money. It just started feeling like work, grinding is no fun at all. I can see the gripe you guys have here.

You can take your favorite activity in the entire world and make yourself hate it by doing it over and over again. I don’t care if it’s sex, your favorite food, your favorite hobby, it doesn’t matter, it will get old.

I prefer when a game gives me reasonably achievable goals. It motivates me to play. If there are no goals given, or the goals seem out of reach, I am robbed of that motivation.
