Sorry, I’m not sure what you mean - I don’t have the 2018 Audi TT RS on the list, as it’s already available in the game
Oh
Well, never touched the game so far (and i’ve got the receipts), so i thought the 2018 wasn’t in the game yet (similar to the 2016 M2)
Seeing that though, i think the 2020 F-Type SVR is coming in the next update’s car pack
I see where it’s coming from, having both 2018 Audi TT RS and 2020 Audi TT RS in the game is indeed a bit odd
I hope you’re right!
With the launch of Series 31 in Forza Horizon 5, we have five #NewToForza cars that could (and perhaps should) find their way into Forza Motorsport:
- 2021 Bentley Continental GT Convertible
- 2019 Jaguar XE SV Project 8
- 2021 Mercedes-AMG SL 63
- 1987 Mercedes-Benz AMG Hammer Wagon
- 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500 E
These cars have been added to the main list. There is also the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 but, being a SUV, I placed in on the discarded pile.
You were close with that assumption
I’ve removed from the list four cars added to the game with Update 6:
- 2014 Alfa Romeo 4C
- 2010 Ferrari 599XX
- 2014 Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4
- 2009 Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster
Honestly… it’s by far the most disappointing monthly set of free cars. Recycling is not necessarily a bad thing but we’re getting either models that should be in the game from the beginning (Alfa Romeo, Pagani), or too similar to ones we already have.
LP 610-4 is the sixth variant of Lamborghini Huracan in the game, and the third added post-launch… T10 could at least give us the Huracan Tecnica from FH5 if they so insist on that model. And Ferrari - why bring back slightly “downgraded” version of 599XX Evo already featured in the game while there is still a bigger hole in Ferrari’s lineup in a place where the 599 GTO should be?
Naturally, this is just my humble opinion… but something tells me I’m not the only one with similar view on that matter
It is true. Instead of releasing cars that are almost duplicates of others we have, they could give us something different. To recycle? That’s fine with me, but it would be nice to have for example Hennessey hypercar, Italdesign Zerouno, Regera Koenigsegg, Lambo SC20, McLaren Speedtail, Lykan or Czinger…
With Series 32 beginning in Forza Horizon 5 this week, we have 7 new cars on the list that could come to Forza Motorsport as well:
- 2003 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra
- 2024 Ford Mustang GT
- 2022 Ford Supervan 4
- 2019 Ginetta G10 RM
- 2020 Jaguar F-Type SVR
- 2023 McLaren Artura
- 1967 Shelby GT 500
There is also one model for the “discarded pile”: 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R. And if you ask why the Ford Supervan 4 didn’t land there too, my reasoning is that this car will fit the game nicely once it receives drift events (eventually). Although I think a 2000 bhp van is suitable for a race track anyway…
That’s an awesome amount of work and I appreciate and applaud your efforts. My “but” to this however is that to me, it seems more appropriate for a listing for Horizon 6 rather than Motorsport 8. Only because some of the cars are just, well, for lack of better words, just cars. They may be cars that could be fun hooning around in a Horizon environment. But I’m not sure if they belong in the Motorsport environment. Just for example, the Ford County Squire. And other “Estate” cars. Just one example of what I feel doesn’t belong on the list for a Motorsport list.
No biggie though, just the opinion of one grumpy old Man. I say what I say, and life goes on.
That’s true, there are big question marks attached to cars like Ford Country Squire. I also think it doesn’t really fit the new Forza Motorsport but in the end I decided to leave it and other American wagons on the main list (instead of moving them to the discarded pile) because they were present in previous games and they could potentially become powerful “customs” after applying some upgrades
I’m kind of disappointed that we still don’t have the two “lower” variants of the 599, in the form of the Motorsport 3 GTB Fiorano and the FM4 GTO.
It’s been a while since the last update to this thread, as Update 7 for Forza Motorsport didn’t (re)introduce any returning cars. So I’ve waited for announcement of Series 33 in Forza Horizon 5 - and now we have 3 vehicles added to the main list:
- 2013 Chevrolet Pro Stock Camaro
- 2021 Hyundai Elantra N (TCR)
- 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Time Attack
As you can see, all of them are competition cars so they’d fit Forza Motorsport nicely, especially the Hyundai Elantra N TCR (I expect it to come sooner than later). I’m also wondering if the Pro Stock Camaro isn’t some kind of glimpse into the future of Forza Motorsport, with full-fledged drag racing with dedicated vehicles… but probably not
I’ve updated the list by removing 4 cars featured in Update 8:
- 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe
- 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS
- 2019 Elemental RP1
- 2019 Porsche #70 Porsche Motorsports 935
I’m glad that Porsche 935 finally found way from trailers to the actual game, even if it requires grinding through many races before we can drive it (thankfully, Assetto Corsa Competizione recently got that car too). Elemental RP1 also seems not a bad choice from FH5’s car roster to bring to FM23.
But there are also two cars returning from previous Forza Motorsport installments… and once again I find it hard to understand why T10 opted for these particular models when so many essential cars are still missing.
I like the BMW 1M but is it a fitting reward for completing 16 races in the Open Tour? I don’t think so. Porsche Cayman GTS '15 on the other hand feels redundant since we already have the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS '18. Cayman GT4 '16 and (especially) 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport '19 would be better choices, if T10 insisted on Cayman so much
Oh, and one more thing about the Porsche 935. T10 mentions in update notes that “this car’s exterior details (…) pay homage to the 935/78 racecar” - it’d be cooler if the 935/78 wasn’t left behind in FM7, so that both cars could meet in a truly special Reward Showcase…
This isn’t the case of “instead of something”, it’s “instead of nothing”. Just look at the previous update, they could’ve brought back any cars from previous Forza titles for these events, but they chose not to.
All in all, if they’re so keen on recycling for a non-existent award then they should at least give us more than one returning car per week. Think of 20, even if they were all different kinds of cars, they’d certainly find more uses than just 4. And if they kept consistently bringing back 20+ cars per update, they’d “run out” of content in… maybe 30 months (adding up all cars from all previous Forzas), but by that time they’d have more than enough new content ready.
I’m afraid it’s not so easy to recycle cars, there are clearly some hurdles that prevent T10 from adding even one free car per week (which should be a bare minimum, like in Forza Horizon 5). That’s probably also the reason why we’re getting models similar to those already included in the game, I guess it’s easier to “port” them into the new physics engine or something.
I wish T10 was more open about the development and obstacles they need to overcome. I’d also like to know how many people the studio currently has. Who knows, maybe it’s severely understaffed after those recent layoffs in Microsoft
I just removed 4 cars from the list (after FM’s Update 8), and now I’m adding another 4 cars. Forza Horizon 5 is once again getting some exciting #NewToForza models (and one restored from X360 era):
- 1986 Citroen BX 4TC
- 2022 Hyundai N Vision 74
- 2021 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4
- 1980 Lotus Esprit Turbo (brought back from FM4)
I really hope Forza Motorsport is going to accelerate catching up on new Forza Horizon’s cars as soon as possible…
Since Update 9 for Forza Motorsport introduced only #NewToForza cars (and I like that), I had to wait for announcement of Series 35 in Forza Horizon 5 until I could update this list once again.
This time I’ve added only 2 cars (although both are “must-haves” for Forza Motorsport):
- 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse
- 2021 Toyota GR Yaris
But perhaps I should’ve included at least 4 vehicles? I wasn’t sure what to do with Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and Kia EV6 GT. Both these models are marketed as “crossover SUVs”, just like Hyundai Kona N which I’ve placed on the discarded pile earlier. But these cars are much lower and sportier than their normal versions so maybe there is place for them on race tracks in Forza Motorsport after all? (Although I don’t know which existing division they could fit into). What do you think?
I had less doubts about the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo. We already have the “normal” Taycan in the game so I believe there is no need for its lifted wagon version.
And as for 5 vehicles from the Universal Icons Car Pack, I’ve ditched all of them onto the discarded pile and marked as “oddballs” (with exception of Jurassic Park’s Jeep Wrangler which is simply an off-roader).
Besides the S650 Mustangs (GT and Dark Horse), I just want to see the 2012 Vanquish (not Zagato) and 2012 F12berlinetta (not tdf) come back to Motorsport '23. And the AMG GT55/63 would be a welcome newcomer in my book. Those cars would be enough for me.
2014 Audi #45 Flying Lizard Motorsports R8 LMS Ultra (FM7)
and
2011 Porsche #45 Flying Lizard 911 GT3-RSR (FM7)
Also should be in the game. But I guess there are licensing issues or something.
I think T10 rather made a decision to leave behind majority of GT3 cars that were succeeded by newer models (i.e. those GT3 cars that had newer models prepared for the game’s launch or for day one DLCs, excluding Aston Martin Vantage, Bentley Continental, or Porsche 991).
But I agree they could be still available (perhaps in a separate division than “modern” Forza GT?).
I’ve removed from the list three cars brought back with Update 10: Lamborghini Reventon, Mercedes CLK GTR, and Subaru Impreza WRX STi '05.
Not bad choices for recycled content this time, although releasing an update with just one #NewToForza car and three models that remember X360 is not very impressive (especially when two of those are used as reward cars)
