Hi Everyone! Microsoft has replaced my console 3 times and replaced my hard copy of this game with a downloadable one to see if i had a bad disk. The short of it is I have the same exact issue with the soft copy as the hard copy. It crashes back to the home screen on certain tracks. It has happened on many different tracks. I have deleted and reinstalled this game on 4 different consoles over the last several months and worked with Microsoft who like I said replaced my console 3 times. It is no coincidence that I have these issues with only this game. It sure as hell aint a coincidence that so many other people on here have had the same issue. Is anything in the works for a permanent fix or are they satisfied with selling a product that doesnt work? I’m just curious has anyone actually spoke to anyone who works for this company that makes this game? Do they have an answer or do they just put up a forum portion of this website so people can log on and see all the other people having the same issue? This is ridiculous. I have had this issue with two different copies of the game and on 4 different consoles as Microsoft has replaced my Xbox One 3 times which makes a total of 4 consoles I have had this issue on. It is no coincidence that this game is the only one and so many people are having this issue. I would gladly blame MS but they have done their part to prove to me its not them. HEY TURN 10 ARE YOU GOING TO FIX THIS?
Since you’ve ruled out the console hardware and game install as culprits, I’d next focus on your gamesave. Have you tried playing with your gamesave on someone else’s console (to rule out your modem/router/connection)? Have you tried playing with an alternate profile gamesave on your home console? Have you tried restting your gamesave?
I used to have this happen to me 3 or 4 times a day, over just a couple hours of play. I started fully shutting down the xbox every other day or so before I start playing. Now it is extremely rare that the game crashes. I have had maybe 2 crashes over the past 3 weeks.
To be clear, the crashes I would get would cause Forza to fully crash and send me back to dashboard. I would have to fully restart the game each time.
I have a very similar situation as that described by EliteApices. Most of the time I would leave the XBox/game on (yet on main menu) and turn my TV off, yet started getting the crashing. Now, I completely shut off every night and do not leave it on for extended periods of time during the day if I am not playing. I am sure there is some sort of bug and the game needs a lot more testing (for endurance!).
Thanks for the heads up on the reset option and being careful not to wipe my whole profile.
Yeah man shutting it down fully helps alot. It clears the Ram completely.
But yeah, this guy on youtube has a video named something like “Forza 5 crash fix” and you watch the 2 minute vid, he shows how to reset, and says “There you have it! No more crashes!” What he doesn’t say is that you also just reset your whole profile. Somebody in the comments pointed that out to him and he had nothing better to say then “Yeah, would have been a good idea to mention that.” You lose your carreer, money, cars etc…
I was assured by XBox support that the fix involving the all bumpers/triggers & Y button does not mean you lose your content that you have shared, ie, paintjobs, tunes & layer groups as those are saved to this cloud nonsense and are retrieveable. My problem is a 1st apparently, i feel honoured that out of the hundreds of thousands that play the game its one of their elder statesmen & long term livery creators that loses everything & can no longer play…what were the odds.
I know the feeling it’s happened to me many times and I’ve just learned to deal with it…
Mine randomly does the same thing. If I try to go back to the home screen everything goes black. It started after the microsoft a month or so ago…the one that got rid of the sharpness filter.
I’m having issues currently as well. I try to play forza but the game stays stuck in the home screen and then kicks me out to the homepage telling me forza took to long to start.
I have tried everything I can think of. I have powered down the console, rebooted a few times, cleared cache and still have the same issue.
I downloaded the game so if I uninstall it in order to re install the game, will I have to purchase the game again?
The way I understand it is you can delete the game fully and re-install it. No need to pay again. And your save file should be stored in the cloud if you have internet access while you play. So you should be just fine to do that.
Ok I will try it now and see how it goes.

I went ahead and uninstalled the game and reinstalled it ad it is working now. Haven’t had this happen to me before. Hopefully this is the last time.

That doesn’t always work Elite…my whole profile has gone missing & the game will not allow me to start a new one making it completely unplayable which is a 1st for me, never know anything like it. I have no save info on the dashboard so i cant delete it there in order to create a new one & when i do the “press all bumpers/triggers & Y button” option it starts syncing then just goes black & freezes. My problem has now apparently been passed to a “higher level” at XBox support but that was a week ago & i’ve heard nothing since. I’ve been asked by a T10 member of staff to try signing in using another console but i’m the only mug that has bought one in my circle of friends & family so thats out of the question but i can start a new profile using a dummy m/s account so the problem lies between the game itself & my current gamertag, not the console as i have no problems with BF4, the only other game i play.
I really wish someone from T10 would address this publicly as it’s now beyong the joke, the game is broke & its making my console obsolete, i didn’t buy a £400 piece of tat along with a £300 peripheral for this nonsense, i can play BF on my PC so the thing is basically redundant. If this doesn’t get rectified by the end of next week i’ll be demading a full refund & make a big ruddy song & dance about it too, sick of tip toeing around this issue hoping not to upset anyone here, its a ridiculous situation that needs sorting out NOW.
Wow never heard of that happening from re-installing the game. I have seen posts and videos on that trick (holding bumpers and triggers and pressing Y) and that, from what I understand WILL reset your Forza profile back to stock. You will lose cars, saves, progression, everything. Somebody was actually posting that as a fix for crashing and I dont think you are the only one that has deleted everything because of it.

Using that reset trick = Everything deleted (not good)
This happens to me on BF4 and Forza 5 so I figured it was a console issue. It does happen more frequently on FM5 though and it is a pain in the [Mod edit - WSD profanity] because it only happens when I am in a lobby racing. EliteApices - How do you turn off your console completely?? I think I do, but was curious what you do? I don’t have it where you walk in the room and say xbox on so when I turn it off I figure it turns completely off.
I thought I was the only one with this problem. I go through crashes almost every two days. Yeah they need to fix this asap. It’s becoming a problem. While I’m racing it goes completely back to the home screen.
It happens to everyone I know and it should have been addressed by now. Im sick of taking turns with everyone in my party being “dashboarded” and missing the race. Fix it already Turn Ten!
I know the mods say this is an Xbox issue and it happens on every other game…But i have quite a number of games and since the updates Forza is the only one that sends you back to the dashboard. For me when trying to download a tune it sends me back to the dashboard 
Anyone having issue with market place. If I go to “market” and try to buy a car => insta dash. Tried couple of times, then gave up and went to career section.
If I go to career and buy car through that, no problem.
