Game freezes after applying upgrades, progress lost (after update 1.1)

This is actually getting ridiculous now. It’s still doing it after two updates and nearly a month after release - I just want to play the game but can’t… I’m getting pretty wild to be fair.

There are no tricks to fix it at all even if you don’t adjust the fuel and tyres, it still does the infinite loading screen, so don’t be confused people.

The physics engine is beautiful.
The rest looks ported from a micro-sale mobile app.

I restarted every series I had completed, and was active - including the intro.

Re-did the intro series.
I was able to complete the intro, and the first series, but hung on last race and lost progress there again.

This is after the dozen or so suggested fixes and sorting the “Teredo not connecting” XBox PC issue …

Completed 9 championships in the first series, but only actually finished 2, and then the 3rd is bugged on race 3 no matter what, soo …

4th October this was identified.

Gameplay circumstances: Porsche 911 GT2 RS, Track Tour - Built to Race - Event 1
Platform: Xbox Series X
Edition: Game Pass with Premium Addons Pack
Account: Solo account
PC GPU: N/A
Peripheral: Xbox Series controller, fully updated
Settings: Performance mode
Xbox Settings: Quick Resume enabled
Attempted fixes: Rebooted Xbox after installing patch
Content Update: This has happened to me about 5 times before installing the patch. After installing it, it happened immediately after the first race I played.

This issue manifests itself in a few ways: An infinite loading screen on purchasing a car, upgrading between races, and also an error about no remote data being available from the server when trying to play a different event.

This is really disappointing. I paid for the Premium Addons pack and not only did I end up not being able to properly use the 5 days of early access, I still can’t play the game, and it’s been more than two weeks. This is by far the worst bug in any game, or really any piece of software, I’ve encountered this year.

There’s a lot going on in the gaming industry. MS’s recent acquiring of ABK is showing us that they are getting serious and is pushing Xbox/Gamepass to align with their direction of making better games to compete. Being a video game player for decades, I think most of us are happy to see this happening.

T10’s sneaky attitude on these bug issues is apparently steering to the opposition direction however. Yes T10, you know what we are talking about here, and please cut the Diagnose crap, there are already tons of players reporting this bug since day 1. If you are buying time, tell us straight. If you still haven’t found the root cause, tell us straight. We don’t mind (and are forced) to wait, but BE A MAN and tell us what’s really going on.

Guys we should think of a way to let the Xbox Management to realize how bad the situation is here. We have been nice to T10 for some weeks already but feels that we are just being fooled. If this path isn’t working, think of other ways to push them to act diligently.

I probably sound bit too harsh but I am just hoping to get on with the game and play it through. Every time when picking up the controller, getting into the game, finishing the Builders Cup race, I don’t feel satisfying but only frustration.

Gameplay circumstances: Doesn’t save career progress while playing featured tour (Track Tour, Mazda MX-5, First race). When I try to save by applying upgrade or painting it gets stuck in infinite loading screen.
Platform: Windows PC
Edition: Game Pass
Account: solo account
PC GPU: Nvidia GTX 1660 Super (Version 545.84)
Peripheral: Xbox One Controller
Settings: Medium settings, Moderate Assists
Xbox Settings: N/A
Attempted fixes: Rebooted, Tried buying cars, upgrading and painting. They all get stuck during that.
Content Update: happening before the update and still happening after 1.1 update

Gameplay circumstances:

  • Game does not save progress reliably. Actions to try and manually save causes the game to get stuck on loading/saving screens 75% of the time.

  • Any car, any Featured Tour (e.g., Track Day, Built to Race, Track Exotics). NO customisation prior to race (e.g., NO navigating optional menus. NO skipping practice).

  • Forcing a save after a race via any interactive save mechanism (e.g., load a Rivals, save a photo, paint a car, buy a car, load a tune, upgrade a car) has a 75% chance of getting stuck on a spinning wheel loading/saving screen.

  • If any of the above manual save prompts work successfully, it also saves the game, and quitting (e.g., closing Quick Resume and loading from fresh) and reloading the game will retain progress

  • If you do more than one race prior to the game getting stuck, you will sometimes lose ALL progress made since loading the game, and sometimes only lose the progress of the last race.

Platform: Series X, latest firmware
Edition: Premium
Account: Solo - account that owns the game
Peripheral: Standard Series X controller, latest firmware
Settings: Any
Xbox Settings: Game is always started from new (NO Quick Resume). Power settings = Shutdown option (energy saving).
Attempted fixes: Support ticket logged. Rebooted. Reinstalled. Set settings to default.
Content Update: Has happened on all 3 version (early access, first patch, and today’s 1.1).

No chages for me on XSX still crashes on multiplayer and soft locks after tuning

This is an actual joke and I’m embarrassed for T10, issue is still occurring. The fact we ALL have to put so much effort to help T10 figure this out is also a joke. I’m done trying to play this game for a while. Been a long time fan of the Forza franchise since FM2 and it really bums me how terrible this game has turned out to be.

Gameplay circumstances: 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II, Track Specials Builders Cup. After completing the Nurburgring Sprint, between moving onto the next I upgraded my car and it then froze.
Platform: Series X
Edition: Premium
Account: Solo account
Settings: Not sure why assists make a difference. But all assists off except ABS. Manual. Performance graphic settings.
Xbox Settings: Quick resume is on, but I restarted the game before I started my session due to the new updated.
Attempted fixes: Tried everything support has recommended when I logged a ticket. Also tried any possible fix that was suggested in the last post.
Content Update: Was happening before and after the latest update.

Losing 4 races of progress 2x now is getting really annoying. I just want to tune my car before a race, but now I am afraid to even change a setup.

How is progress not saved between races?

I got the early access pack through Xbox Gamepass on my XBX and have been having these issues since day 1 of early release.

T10 is asking what car and what event it happens in, well it happens with any car I choose and can happen after 1 or 5 races.

Have tried the ‘dont adjust fuel & tyres’, ‘exit from cup and change body colour on a different car to force a save’ and ‘not do upgrades mid event’ with absolutely zero luck.

Will T10 refund me my money for the early access? As it’s been beyond a joke and I only purchased a XBX to play this game…

Issue 1608827. This should not have been closed as after applying the update/hotfix I am immediately greeted by the same issue again.
When I applied an upgrade to my car after the first race of “Built for Sport” the game soft locked and wouldn’t finish applying the upgrade to my car. I once again had to Alt-F4 to get out of the game and once I loaded Forza Motorsport again my progress had again been lost.

Gameplay circumstances: different cars and different events in builder’s cup, issue appears after quick upgrade, in photomode during the race, when i try to share race repeat after race
Platform: Series S
Edition: Premium
Account: solo account
PC GPU: (-)
Peripheral: (-)
Settings: tried Quality and Performance settings, Accessibility settings are default, minimal help in Control Settings
Xbox Settings: tried to launch game from scratch or from Quick Resume, doesn’t affect, issue still happening
Attempted fixes: xbox reboot, game reinstall, latest updates for game are applied
Content Update: Issue is happening for me since game release (Oct 5)

Same here on Series X. Trying to complete the Track series and simply can’t get past a single race. Exact same issue as prior to 1.1. Won’t be playing till it’s fixed. So incredibly disappointing.

Progress doesn’t save.

Hi

Im also having frequent freezes while driving. I play on the Asus Ally portable console. Its been freezing almost every race now that Ive been reducing my playtime on the game. Hope to come back to the game affer this is fixed. Thanks.

I was super excited reading this update was coming but it wasn’t out before I crashed last night, then read the replies this morning…so sad, tested for myself this arvo and the same thing, still not saving progress…

Gameplay circumstances: Completed races 3 and 4 in Modern Tour > Built for Speed. Exited to the main menu after each race (thinking this would save). Came back in for the 5th race at Suzuka and applied upgrades, game hung at “Applying Upgrades”. Driving 2020 Toyota GR Supra.
Platform: Xbox Series X
Edition: Premium
Account: Captain Solo account
PC GPU: n/a
Peripheral: Xbox Elite Controller
Settings: Performance RT. All assists off except for braking line.
Xbox Settings: Quick Resume.
Attempted fixes: Support ticket: 500861. Rebooted. Started series again with new car. Completely uninstalled game and reset Xbox.
Content Update: Happening during early access, after 1st update and after 2nd update.

Still bot fixed. Endless loop after upgrading or buying or painting. Come on and fix it its been 3 weeks!!!

At this rate id never buy a Turn10 product day one again.
