I cant hear or talk to anybody whatsoever ive tried changing and resetting ever audio settings I know of with no luck any suggestions thanks
Oh that’s normal. It’s their new multiplayer feature called anti-social.

I can still hear just fine, but I haven’t been able to talk to anyone in over 2 months.
I have tried to fix this with all the tricks and tips I read online, and nothing has worked.
The best chance is to reset your XB1X by holding down the power button, to have it turn off and back on, which resets the cache to clear out any non-essential stuff.
Log back in, and check to see if you have an update for the XB.
I have heard this is supposed to help, but it didn’t do anything for me.
If a reset was supposed to remedy this issue, that means it’s not a hardware issue like a controller or headset, but it’s the software itself that has been corrupted to no longer have the mic ability. Which, means all the other fixes are pointless, but I included them here anyhow.
All the other fix attempts:
I have 2 headsets, and multiple controllers that I tested with out any positive results.
I tested my headset on my cell phone, and it had no issues with the mic at all.
I also read that the port on the controllers is total junk, and if you - slowly- insert the jack into the port, this is supposed to help make the connection - nah . .
Or try jiggling it to get the two connector points on the jack to engage the inner port connection points - nah . . .
I also read that you can use the XBOX cell phone app to take over your game, and set up the audio, which it will take over your game, and still use the controller, and I was able to hear, but still not able to be heard.
I have also heard that you can use the mic on your Kinnect system to set up your chat, but haven’t tried that yet.
The thing I have not tried yet, is to buy one of those adapters you can plug into the back of your controller that has a mic jack on it. That will be my next attempt at getting the mic to work.
I just race in Horizon Open now, or on Twitch where I can text my conversations with the players I am racing with. And if wondering, the audio for the texting doesn’t work on the XB either.
So, when you go do all your research to fix this, I just saved you a lot of time by eliminating the garbage you will read that was designed to waste your time.
