I haven’t really been paying attention to it since I don’t have a voice chat microphone, but I just realized that I am no longer hearing the other drivers chatting during online races. I’m pretty sure that I used to hear other drivers. Admittedly, most of the conversations were not worth listening to, but I do love hearing the occasional rage quit. Does anyone know what happened? Did I change a setting, or can you only hear voice chat now, if you also have a mic? BTW, I do still see other mics flashing, on the result screens.
I noticed this last night. Had grabbed my headset and was talking to people in the lobby but not hearing anything. Then I realized I hadn’t plugged in my headset yet. Once I plugged it in I was able to hear everyone. Before I was always able to hear people thru the TV and would hurry and plug my mic in to find and mute whatever little kid was screaming Hello over and over.
I noticed this a few months ago. I don’t use a mic, so chatting isn’t important, but I don’t like the idea that something changed and I can’t seem to fix it. I can hear chat just fine on my xbox 360, so this isn’t a problem with XBL account settings. Seems to be xbox one specific. I have talked to one of the xbox ambassadors but they were not able to help.
Interesting, now that you mention it, I do remember this feature working on my XBOX360. I could hear other racers through my TV, even without a mic plugged in. On my XB1X, I can see the chat icon flashing for those players with mics, but I hear no voice.
It’s been a few months, but I am still having this problem on FH3 ONLY…I can see mic icon flashing for other online players, but can’t hear chat no matter what I try. Chat works on other xbox one games, and even other Forza games (like FH2), which means all of my sound settings should be correct. Chat also works on my 360. Any T10 officials have any ideas?
