Free Play Races

I know in Forza 6 there was an issue with setting up Free Play races with the type of cars you wanted. For example if I wanted to recreate a 1964-1969 LeMans style races with max car numbers using cars from that era such as GT40s, Shelby Daytona’s, Shelby Cobras, Ferarri P cars, etc… is this possible or is 7 still stuck in the limited 6 world on this issue?

Thanks

You can somewhat do that in forza 7 with the class type, you just have to figure out what group of cars you want in the race and set it up like that (IE hot hatches or whatever)

When I try and setup a free play race and restrict it to a certain model/year I get stuck on a loop where it keeps asking me to choose a car. Is the s a known issue?

I had the same issue. Your pi is set higher than the Class allows. Each class has a restricted pi that is lower than the max for each a,b,c,s, etc class. Hope this helps.

So should I leave Pi unrestricted?

Btw I’m trying to restrict the race to two cars, I have been using two buckets with one car per bucket.

I had this problem when making an gt3 and lmp2 race - bucket 1 is the one the game forces you to use. E.g. bucket 1 is the lmp1 divison; then you have to use an lmp1 car.

Hope this helps

Are you setting the buckets to class (Ex.: S, R) or division (Ex.: Forza GT, Forza P1, etc.)?
You can do either or both.
If you set it by division the game puts in the cars you would see in single player career - with upgrades for homologation.

Try also setting division to Open so division restrictions won’t apply.

You can set different rules for you and AI by using “buckets”

You will be in bucket 1, you might want to set Division to “Open” so you can drive without any restrictions.

You can then set restrictions to other buckets.

You can even go so far as setting a Make and Model for other buckets.

This has worked great for me doing 1v1 races with unbeatable drivatars and setting up classic races like M3 vs C63, Falcon vs Commodore, Ferrari vs Lamborghini etc.

Play around with buckets and you get a good amount of flexibility.

I think point to point could be good as long as they stuck to hard pavement courses. It would be amazing if they added something like Pike’s Peak.

Be great if they added a race section on LeMans where you could pick the year and it auto populate the different classes with correct year/model cars for the different classes so you could have 4 different classes racing at once like the real race has.

Or have the ability to set it up yourself. Where you can choose individual cars from different classes to populate the field with cars you want.
