It’s not possible to restrict Free Play to a single car.
If you want to have a Single Player race against only 1 type of car, you will have to create a Private Lobby in Multiplayer and adjust the Game Settings accordingly.
Sorry but the op ask for the 1990 lola t90 and no other car class. Turn 10 should fix this asap. This and many other cars have no division or not integrated in their class. I wroted first day after dlc that this car has no class. So many issues I have never seen in a forza motorsport game. The people who a made the implementation of the dlc cars should ask themselves if they are at the right place. The motivation to give us a great racing experience in free play seem very low to me. I can understand that the team is not in the best mood after the sales and the criticism. But that is no excuse.
adding no car class to a car make this unusable in free play. When I add this feature as a dev than I would make it sure that it function specially on the dlc cars. Turn 10 please fix that whe have paid for the cars and I think whe got a right that the cars are working in free play too.
Do the developers pay attention here? Is there any chance of it getting fixed in a future patch or did I just buy a bunch of DLC I’ll never be able to use?
This car really does need a division so you can set up races with just it because it doesn’t actually compete against any other car. I tried. I really hoped there was some possibility of it having good races with the 4/4 but they are just too different
There are too many cars in this game that don’t fit in with a specified group. I really miss the way they had the racing setup in FM4. I still think that was the best Forza titled game to date
The devs should really give more options for free play selection yes. The one thing that would really help with a TON of free play car selection struggles would be a minimum year and maximum year. That way you can narrow down the field to the years of cars you would want to see on the field. And on top of it all you can reproduce more realistic races from a given time period instead of having something from the 50s / 60s on track together with a brand new 2015 model, it just looks stupid.
It would help the OP as wel, he could narrow down the year to 1990 and use X-class. Heck you could perhaps even allow 1988-1990 and see how that 1988 McLaren #12 Honda McLaren MP4/4 fairs against it. Talking about that McLaren, you have the exact same problem as the OP there as well.
I found out on a day of boredom in single player free race that if I race the 1990 in X class against the obvious DW-12 (modern IndyCars) on the Daytona oval it’s almost like NASCAR with the drafting. I personally thought it was fun.
I agree on the general view that FM4’s system was the best. No silly restrictions, just the good old classes, body styles, engine types, drive types etc.
The one thing I hate about this game is how restricted cars are.
I personally much prefer the way cars are grouped now over Forza 4 etc, but one of my main gripes with the game is the cars that don’t fit into any class. There’s also classes that don’t make sense, classes that don’t exist that easily could, or could be much improved on. For example, I’d quite like to race old Mustangs and Camaros against classic Minis and Cortinas, but there is no way of doing that offline.
One thing that would help the game is simply having an option to have ai run the same car as the player. Other games manage it, and it would allow the Lola Indycar, MX-5 cup car, 80’s McLaren F1 car and others to actually have a purpose in the game. Right now they are pointless and, as a lot of “unclassed” cars came as DLC, a complete waste of money.
I agree with what you’ve said there mate, as well as done of the others above.
I’d love to race just the Holdens (Commodore Vc, GTS 350 Monaro, A9X Torana) and XB Ford Falcon GT’s (which oddly enough has an American Flag and origin of manufacturing in its vehicle info etc- hello Turn10, the Falcon is an entirely Australian motor vehicle, not american) on Bathurst in a field of 24 cars.
Such races would explode the possibilities of this game exponentially…
On the other side, I enjoy the mixed classes style races that can be set up in Free Play. It’s great trying to weave your way through the field without causing any casualties. Yes, you’ll possibly lap them, but that’s what happens in Career Mode in the Enduro a Races. One needs to be able to manage other slower vehicles, while still holding onto your own position within your own class.
Fir me, they ads greater detail to the game, and expands it further.
Personally, I’m finding the current iteration quite rewarding. I’ve only got 15% to finish in the full career mode in the last section, and will not finish the Showcase section, as I find the task of knocking silly bowling pins over quite unrewarding, same goes for the other Top Gear fiascos they call car racing…
That aside, the game certainly needs bolstering with regards to the matters above…
Again, I come back to my points mentioned in another thread… Form a proper lobby group, set up a board and have a few spokespersons, formulate a proper list of “suggestion” and present them in the proper manner to the ppl directly involved.
Yes, it’ll mean a lot of work, but if it’s not done, then we’re all just blowing hot air out of our mouths. (Well, getting blisters on our typing fingers lol)
We need the ability to set up proper class ranking races…
So is my XBOX basically a giant brick still? Guess T10 doesn’t care to fix this. Well, time to sell it I suppose. Cars are cool and the game is fun but it’s not worth keeping. I’ll keep spending my time with iRacing like I always have. This was a good way to blow off some steam but I’m pissed I paid for a season pack, game, new system, etc. and can’t even race the car against other of the same.
