Thanks for adding the possibility to race classes. I did some amazing races yesterday, racing V8 and Indy cars! Now if you could only add Qualifying to Single Player (assuming it is too complicated to add it to career as well), this would allow for some proper racing experience!
How do can you tell the division your current car belongs to ? They should highlight the division in the list as you scroll instead of trying each only to get a message that rules have changed. But great feature regardless.

Oh, are you saying when you choose a division it doesn’t list the division of your current car first? If so, I might have gotten a slighty wrong impression by driving 70s F1 first. lol
The best way is create your own private lobby, then in the lobby restrictions select the division you want. You will now see any eligible cars when you go to select from the garage / rent.

Let’s not get crazy. Some of the classes too broad (Modern GT and early GT to name a couple). Let’s celebrate when free play actually allows us to play the way we want (let us choose the AI cars, if they are upgraded or not, timed or lap race etc.). Until T10 does that I won’t be celebrating.
Does this update improve free play? I say absolutely. Am I satisfied with free play right now? Absolutely not.

This is a welcome addition, however I see little point in it due to this glaring issue/oversight or perhaps something T10 didn’t bother addressing:
You cannot change car class in ANY of these events!
So let’s say I want to create a race in “Historic American Muscle Car”… I’m driving an A class Javelin, I even select in the pre-race menu options “Class: A” but all the AI cars are D class.
Same goes for all the other events. If I want to race in a specific event but while upgraded to a better class, and I’m selecting the same class in the pre-race options, why does the AI default to the class that’s for that specific event?
It’s strange is all it is. If I want to just race them in one FIXED class for any event, I might as well head over to career. If free play lets you choose racing league AND car class, why isn’t the AI the same car class as mine in any of the events?
They have auto upgrade algorithms too. Have had them forever. It’s like they’re not just out of touch with the community, but also their own game.
Frustrating.
