About half way down the straight around where the first chicane would normally be on the current track setup I get a huge frame rate lag spike where the entire game stops for about half a second. It’s not too much of a problem since you’re driving in a straight line but I thought I’d put it out there anyways.
Lets take note of this. Although it could be your connection as I don’t seem to have that.
I get it too.
I have actually had this numerous times since the update. Tried to blame the TV so I could get a newer 60" instead of this small 55".
LOL I was happy when my 7-year-old 19" 720 died earlier this year so I could finally get a 24" 1080p. Granted I am playing at my desk, but still.
I also noticed this a few times…
I often get a framerate drop going into 1st turn on Indy GP. Not a connection thing as it happens in both SP and MP.
Happens to me too.
Happens to me alot on almost every track I drift on both in sp and mp its even worse for me when it effects my wheel as im sideways through corners sometimes I worry it will break it when it happens .
When Racing my tracks seem to shift into position like someone has just snapped a jigsaw piece in place, plus not liking the screen bouncing around while racing. Watch your lap counter and speedo bounce.
null
I agree with the jigsaw puzzle effect but it is most noticeable as the track transitions to the long straight.
Perhaps the view or camera effects settings contribute to this problem.
On Indy Oval, I have had several times going into the last corner, that parts of the drivable road are completely black. I can still drive on it, without losing speed, but the texture is just gone. Next lap, it is back or it might not be back. The parts where you can’t drive (like, when you would hit the wall or make a dirty lap on the grass) as still there & visible.
Weird thing is; I had the exact same issues with texturing on FM3 on the Mugello Full Circuit, also in the last double-apex corner (going down to the finish straight) but that was quite persistent and was huge pain in the **** when we were doing a 50 lap Endurance.
I’m experiencing this on Le Mans too. It is even present when watching the replay.
I have had it happen @ Old Le mans on the 3 mile straight too. Plus various other tracks I have noticed it a little as well. I hope Turn 10 is investigating this.
i get it too. old lemans
Noticed it on Old Lemans for the first time yesterday morning. Like the OP said, not enough to cause issues but enough to cause notice.
I noticed a frame rate drop on Alps, festival corner (the second left hander as you come out of the tunnel, before the right hander going up the hill) since the last update. It’s not a sudden freeze as reported for Le Mans, but a noticeable FPS drop.
Have you tried any system maintenance that’s available ?
Have you tried a hard reboot of the system before playing ?
Is the game installed ?
What version of the dashboard are you using ?
Do you notice frame rate drops in other games ?
Does it only happen online ?
If you want something looked into then supplying all the above info would help when posting a problem.
This only happens to me at Old LeMans (or I only notice it at Old LeMans).
Hard boot - done several times.
Game installed - yes.
Version of dashboard - latest?
Other games - only plays FM5
Only online - off & online
I happen to have a YouTube video (not for this purpose) but it happens right at 1:31 & 1:32; the video seems to come to a stop for a split second, then continue on normal. This is exactly what happens during the drive; the screen freezes for a fraction of a second (the car is still moving) then the screen comes back and I continue on. It catches me off guard everytime!
YouTube Link to Video Containing Momentary Screen Freeze, at 1:31
Also, is this on single-player play or multiplayer? Will have to try it later when I get home. Would make online races interesting.
