#ForzaMonthly March 8 / content update March 12

I’m sure many will be happy with this upcoming patch but not me.

Glad the pits are fixed and the collision model is reworked to stop cars getting glued together. Not a fan of drift cars but the street RTR Mustang interests me.

Now this is what really wound me up about the live stream. They gloated and patted each other on the back about listening to the community. The community has been asking for new tracks for a year. :expressionless: They flaunted a invite only race regulation system after months and months of waiting. Sure it’s coming public soon but still frustrating to wait more. Not only that, they obviously avoided anything to do with penalties for rammers, the biggest issue in the game as far as public multiplayer is concerned.

Very disappointed. They say they’re listening but I just don’t feel it. I’m not sure if I can justify buying a next gen console for Forza 8 if this is the kind of garbage we’re thrown.

This is coming from someone who is very passionate about the game, someone who has sank over 110 days of game time into Forza 7. I just don’t know anymore, my frustrations since launch just seem to increase month after month, patch after patch. The next question is what will they break on Tuesday?

I have deliberately left out the entirety of my issues with the game, the wall of text would be eye watering at this point.

To those who have loved every patch I am so happy for you, I wish I could feel the same but since buying a PS4 and GT Sport, seeing the support that game receives, it almost breaks my heart to see Forza continue to grow stale with lackluster additions. My future of competitive simcade could well be solely on another platform next gen.

What I like with Turn 10 is that they keep on disappointing their fans.
Seriously, I can’t stand this anymore.
Before every update, I try to convince myself that they will improve their game, that the will add a real motorsport flavor to their game but no… Once again, a ridiculous update…

Discord link please. I have a suggestion I would like to make.

The Per car soft lock settings is a decent enough change. Now I don’t have to change from 900º to 540º just to drive a F1 in Forza.
The FFB feel is also something I am looking forward to. Perhaps this will help the track racers be able to feel the car out, a little better?

It’s not a total loss.

I made a discord account straight away, but was told there to post suggestions to this link.

https://support.forzamotorsport.net/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000166434

Or you click on “support” tab above, with some searching find “New ticket” and title “feedback and suggestions”.

Overall, i’m happy with the update, whilst not a big drift fan , the wheel and field of view improvements are all steps in the right direction. Thank you.

I did get the impression that the new “Forza Discord” will replace forums or atleast be Turn10’s primary focus on the communication front…

Race Reg system

-“one” invite-only S lobby as beta
-time penalty for cutting….but not actually adding time to the clock. No deceleration/ghosting?
-penalties for rammers (in which form we don’t even know) coming at a later stage?
-no word of ghosting for backmarkers?
Underwhelming, considering everything is in the talks since LAST MAY.
By the time you get feedback from players it’ll be summer.

There will be no substantial improvement unless you force grievers to stop whatever they’re doing. And the only solution is ghosting + deceleration on track + getting booted from the lobby + getting negative reputation

And I’m pretty sure nothing will change for the bug of the headlights off at night, and the unresponsive car selection with the very little time at our disposal between races online.
Things that were never fixed since the game came out.

I don’t know if it was mentioned in the stream or elsewhere, but I’m noticing a serious difference in the single-player AI. Last night, I was having a lot of trouble even keeping up with the leaders on Pro difficulty, while tonight I’m mopping the floor with them and will almost certainly bump back up to Unbeatable once I’ve confirmed it isn’t just this series. It seems very much like the infamous AI power boost has been dialed back a lot, if not removed entirely. It’s still a garbage heap in the first breaking zone, but I can live with that when I feel confident I can run down the leaders once I get clear.

Other than that, the main thing I’ve noticed is visual update to a lot of the category and item icons in the upgrade shop. It was a bit disorienting to see them at first, but it does look better once you’re past the shock.

@iamthejarha - March update doesn’t arrive until 12-Mar-2019 so don’t understand what changes you are seeing.

The upgrade shop icons I saw earlier aren’t there anymore, but certain icons were much different–the Tires and Rims category icon, along with (I think) the Tire Compound and both Tire Width icons looked like a stack of two or three tires with another leaned against the top. Having said that, my video settings had also reset when I started up the game (I play on PC), so I may have been seeing something different due to that. I know FH4 has a tendency to reset video settings when I update my video driver or the game receives an update, so I didn’t think too much of it and assumed it was all part of the update.

The AI changes have remained persistent, though. With the exception of Circuit de la Sarthe, I’ve found the AI much less able to jump out and run away with impossible speed today, which is drastically different from my experiences on Pro and Unbeatable up until now. Not really sure what’s going on there, now that I know the update hasn’t actually arrived yet.

I am very Pleased as a wheel owner to see all this. It is making me look even more forward to the eventual FM8 as this should all be implemented in it when it actually comes out…at least I hope so!

Did they clarify how to get an invite to the March beta hopper?

I listened to the broadcast but missed some as I got pulled away for a bit…sorry, I would like to know how as well.

could you guys implement the Offset tuning in Forza 7 please?

I watched only the portion about Forza Motorsport 7. They showed gameplay of how race regulations are going to work. Time will be deducted for those who get out of track intentionally in order to pass others and those won’t reach the podium even if they finish first :checkered_flag:. I am hopeful and optimistic that law and order is eventually going to be established.

Some of us wheel users are still waiting for you to implant the same FoV system of FH4 in FM7. It’s great the upgrades you’re doing with the FFB and with the camera options for the drifters. But I think the FoV is something very basic that every sim game should have, while you have it included but in the arcade game. FoV settings matters a lot!!!

Repeat, I don’t know what you are waiting for to inlude the feature. I wouldn’t like have to buy FM8 just because FM7 doesn’t include FoV settings.

Field of View & and more importantly in my opinion, Position of View should’ve been implemented years ago, however I am looking forward to seeing what that new camera setting does for racers as well.

Sounded like they already had their group of people for the invite only beta hopper. I certainly hope they Invite random people at random times however so that they can get some “out of the box” races.

I also hope - (as the mentioned they have previously been afraid to look) - that they start looking at and responding to the wonderful ideas and suggestions and bug reports and general game items that this forum keeps them up to date on. I hope they will follow through and also have the opportunity to reply directly from time to time and actually take part.

I feel the discord session is an endless chat - and the forums are still the best place to actually show up and ALSO be a part of the living breathing group that mostly puts out positive information and great suggestions.

Great updates and thanks (btw add look to apex to go along with the look to drift)

How about some decent FFB defaults for a start instead of just adding more and more sliders?

Well…another month gone & still no fix for drivatars getting more power or just simply going faster than their max speed with no draft involved. Somebody from Turn 10 mentioned the drivatars were getting tweaked a couple of months back. Were they just talking about crash physics? I know there is a large drift segment in the community, but why do they continue to give us more & more drift cars when most of the posts I see are asking for more race cars? Indy had their first race of the season yesterday. Tomorrow would have been a great day to roll out the new Indycars that have been rumored to be coming.
