Ugh I hope we’re not getting more Ken Block/Gym Khana stuff. Drift is out of play now, I will never get tired of receiving race cars though.

I agree, I’m not a drifter, don’t like drifting, but I’ll do it and I try to do it well, but I would like to place a vote for less drift related content.

They gave us drift suspension already, stop adding drift cars and just let us build our own.

Hopefully it’s just the car being used for the promo shot though and the spotlight car (or whatever they have been calling it) is something that actually adds something of value to the game.

Hate to burst your bubble, but there will definitely be one new drift Mustang coming to Forza 7, based on @chelseadenofa’s instagram page.

ps. aside from the Formula Drift car park, there really hasn’t been many DLC drift cars in Forza 7.

I know a lot of people aren’t into drift updates or any implementation drift oriented, but ti is a big part of the community & who knows, if we get some nice changes for drifting it might benefit everyone. It is also a mode that does need fleshing out like drag as well.

Either way I’m really looking forward to the stream tonight.

Mmm well I sure hope they get grip racing, (which the series started off with and has yet to be perfected) done first. Sure I do hope everything gets better and completed in all aspects of Forza, but Motorsport has to step its game up in grip racing if it wants to survive.

Lol either that or change the name and start over. Which hell that may just end up happening after PD, SMS, and other sim developers come out with their next games. FM8 will be pivotal in this franchise’s future, and hopefully FM7 becomes the great base needed to make it a smash hit.

Totally agree. I’m hoping that the race regulations update is the first step to achieving this.

I would just like a couple of new tracks. Accompanied by some cars worthy to run over them. All rival games have introduced new tracks with dlc. All.

I agree. This game needs a bare minimum of 2 new tracks and at least one of them offering day/night/rain.

Drift cars are cool - the payoff needs to be higher and there needs to be some sort of drift competitions like in real life for a good challenge introduced to the game. Like someone said up there - Enhancements to drag mode and drift mode would be welcome.

Can’t wait for all the new stuff - keep it goin keep it goin  - here’s hoping for new tracks and a great penalty system and even more immersive game play

Topics and features:

  • RTR cars
  • Adjustable view angle to help drifters see in the direction of angle
  • FFB improvements, addressing the feel transition from grip to drift, steering wheel tuning, and steering wheel telemetry to see how the settings are working.
  • Per-car wheel settings
  • All Driver Gear will now be in the Race Shop rotation
  • Private beta hoppers followed by public beta hoppers in April to test Race Regulations

Absolutely ecstatic about this update. Adjustable view angle is going to be interesting for racers as well as drifters. It’ll really help compensate the lack of field of view & position of view. Being able to finally look to the apex on both wheel & controller & in both racing & drifting is vital & a superb edition. It’ll make a huge difference to the game as a whole & I’m super stoked to play around with it. The configurable settings look very nice as well. Really excited to tweak it in though I’d love to be able to save some presets for certain cars or tracks, maybe in the future that’ll come.

The the Force Feedback update looks awesome, especially the dynamic damper setting. That’ll be extremely fun to play with & dial in. It might make the current damper effect much more important & it will be interesting to see what setting people come up with between the two settings. Load sensitivity looks fantastic as well from what I’ve seen. For circuit racers it’ll probably be best to have it near around max but for wheel users they’ll probably want to smooth out the load from bumps. Really great idea for the Force Feedback again & I’m really excited to play around with it for sure. Force Feedback telemetry is an absolute lifesaver. We can finally see if the wheel is clipping which will be so cool especially for console guys like myself, but I’m also delighted to see the real-time damper percentages & spring percentages. It’ll be interesting to see what is actually happening with the car rather than having to rely just on feel alone. Hopefully this will help people dial in the Force Feedback more & finally show us if we’re clipping. That alone is a major thumbs up from me.

Finally being able to have some sort of soft-locking as also huge. Per car Force Feedback tuning will be so beneficial when it comes to driving extremely diverse cars, like hopping from an SUV to an LMP1 car. So pumped about all these Force Feedback updates. I’ll give Turn 10 their credit which imo is fully deserved. From Forza Motorsport 6 to now, the wheel has improved ten-fold to the point where going back is almost impossible for me. The amount of work & effort going towards the more niche part of the community is really appreciated, especially after we’ve been left out cold for so long. There’s still work to do but we’re certainly heading in the right direction.

Fixing the that magnetic collision bug will be great for tight racing, tandems & such & the pit glitch being fixed is also great, especially for people who do endurance races & such. No more ruining races hopefully. I’m really happy that the Forza Race Regulations will be in a BETA stage right now. It’s good to see that they’re not going to rush out this major update without feedback first like they have done in the past. The UI looks really nice in the April build as well & hopefully with some feedback & suggestions, it becomes even more refined for the release in April, & worked on further down the line as well. Hopefully in the end, this will give us cleaner, closer & fairer racing. One suggestion I would have is also rolling this out to Free Play as a setting to toggle on & off so we can test it there as well against AI. That could be a neat feature too if implemented.

Overall this is an excellent update. Very impressed with the work done by the Turn 10 team & I really hope that it carries on forward for months to come.

Damn, this is beyond bad…

I’m so disappointed and frustrated at the moment.

Especially the end of the show was just a slap in the face.
I waited 1 and a 1/2 year now for fixes like AI improvements, headlights in night races and some smaller things like bugs on cars and graphic issues on tracks.
Didn’t even finished the career because I thought I wait for these improvements.

But they focused always on other things like drag, drift, Hot Rods and all these things I’m absolutely not interested in.
I don’t say these additions are bad, but just nothing for me.

Now there big baby “Forza Race Regulations”…
It’s looking good and will help clean racing.
I hope, these awful tire-walls will disappear everywhere in the game, when it’s ready, not only in online-races.

But that’s it?
You guys will keep ignoring all these issues until the next installment?
I know they said there will be more updates to come, but let’s face it, the team will shift the attention to the next game and there will be no more big updates after race regulations.

They even didn’t mentioned the issues introduced with the last update.
Somebody noticed, that the game now freezes 1-2 seconds EVERYWHERE in the UI when the Race Shop-timer resets?
Podium-Ceremony has a chance of 25% to be broken too.
And there is some issue with the Leagues-System where I don’t get points for some reason.

If they think I buy a new Xbox-System with the next game (I’m pretty sure FM8 is a next-gen-title, just my thoughts), they have to come more.
The Xbox One-Gen titles (FM5/FM6/FM7) where all in all pretty disappointing compared to the 360-Gen-titles.
All 3 where unfinished at release and in some areas even a big step backwards.
FM7 being the worst of them and the improvements over the last 18 months were…small.
Except from some great new cars and Track limits/Time Attack-Mode there was nothing big for me in there.

But well, single-player-gamers like me have no voice in these “Games as a Service”-days.
I didn’t expected much since Online-Racing seems to be the biggest part nowadays.
But at least a good working AI (or “Drivatars”) for Career and Free Play like in the old 360-days was something i looked forward to.
Now it seems this work shifts to the next game.
Too late for me.

Thanks for reading.
And please keep in mind, thats only my opinion on these things, I don’t expect to be in the majority here.

Dude believe me I feel exactly where you’re coming from. Do they not realize all they had and have to do is pretty much half a dozen things; 1. Give us at least just 1 expansion or at least 1 track with a few ribbons and 1 or two weather/ time of day variants. JUST 1 TRACK! 2. Fix the lighting and that includes the infamous headlight bug, the track and daytime lighting, the taillight illumination at night and some minor cockpit lighting. 3. Fix the freaking car sounds already and we dont even need all car sounds fixed just the major ones, I’d say at least 100 cars and that’s only 1/8th of this massive roster. 4. Address the rammers, track cutters and cheaters online, simple. 5. Fix some freeplay bugs including forcing homologation on us when we want to just race stock cars within a given division. 6. And just tweak the AI in all areas. I swear if they did just those things from the jump, all this extra stuff would just be icing on the cake and I’m sure majority of us would shut up. Why cant they get it together and months continue to go by with nothing that I listed is coming into formation with the exception of the AI supposedly getting tweaked. Its It’s annoying and I’m slowly losing faith in this franchise.

More drift cars and drift enhancements. Exactly what everyone was on the edge of their seat for.
