A major portion of the franchise amongst many is using the auction house. While this isn’t something I particularly use; I still see it used daily with many opportunities for growth. Many are wanting direct player to player trading which in theory sounds like an awesome idea, but will introduce with no doubt players distributing cars like no tomorrow. As it is easy for players to break the code of conduct and obtain cars illegally or introduce real world transactions for in game content. So, I took a bit of time to develop a middle ground.
Introducing trade tokens!
This idea is heavily inspired from the Mobile Game; Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket or Pokémon TCGP for short. They use a token system for their trading. Where tokens can steadily be earned over time. Both the player trading and the player who is wanting to be traded (both sides need to use a token to trade). Despite modding being a never-ending battle forcing both sides to use tokens to trade may slow this process. Especially if they are extremely limited. Such as only appearing once in the Forzathon shop per series or maybe a 50% award (similar rarity to that of the backstage pass). This way player to player trading can still exist whilst keeping the possible modding and real money transactions illegally into the game much lower. Since both sides need to have trade tokens inflating from one side won’t really have that big of an impact. There also will need to be a filter to this to avoid unobtainable cars from being sent in and cars that are unreleased. An easy way to allow this would be to take the Auction House filter that already bans these cars and share it to be implemented here.
This should also give more drive into the playlist as well as help free some of those who are wanting to get cars (such as new PlayStation players) who hadnt had the chance to get them yet. Without having to go through the auction house. Try to snipe a car and then learn that they are not the only one and sit for hours after hours.
