I have a question that I’ve been unable to resolve through research. It may seem trivial but I can’t figure out what “ringing” is, in terms of racing offences.
Which also leads me to wonder what is meant by “Pitting”? Is this in reference to the Pit lane and stopping for repairs, or P.I.T. Manoeuvres?
I’m just trying to clarify the nomenclature, not argue the merits of Pitting, or Ringing.
"Race Etiquette
Race etiquette rules will be enforced in all ForzaRC matches. Intentional damage including, but not limited to;
Ringing
Faking
Pitting
obstruction of other vehicles
ramming
cutting tracks
Breaking any of these rules may result in immediate forfeit of participation and prizing for a period of 12 months. The violation of race etiquette will be at the sole determination of Turn 10 and Gfinity with a valid replay. All players that qualify and race in the broadcasts are not allowed to chat about tournament decisions and tournament intel in the stream chats and other public places."
I am also in search of any information that may clear up how one is to participate in these races, if one is chosen? I was never able to successfully navigate the ESL Style racing, and I can’t make heads or tales of he GFINITY app either. It doesn’t show FORZA as one of the participating games.
That’s the site. There are no selections on who can or cannot participate. First come first serve basically. I think the rules limit around 4,000 players per region. The link provided is for the North America region. Select the region that best applies to you. The descriptions imply that a massive 1v1 bracket will exist so if you sign up in time, you’ll race. As for how seeding will work, that’s not clear. I’m assuming it’s based on cumulative points earned via rivals and races (for weeks 2 until last week).
So basically Lightning and Raceboy will have high seeds all tournament since they are suoer fast rivals players and super smooth/fast racers.
The site is different but it’s basically filter based. First filter is race/rivals/rules/handout, next filter is cups/leaderboards, and final filter is region.
A lot of the filter options have minimal or no data due to the events not starting yet.
Under race filter → cups you can sign up for all or a handful of the races. I would sign up for all.
Thank you for the help.
I figured p.i.t.ing was what they meant, but it wasn’t very clear. How am I supposed to win if I can’t do p.i.t. Manoeuvres? What a buzz kill. Which ones the brake? Lol
I still wouldn’t be suprised if using the pit lane became a definition issue. I haven’t ever heard of ringing so I hope someone who has can help me out.
Thanks again
Not meant to be a funny post but I found it hilarious.
I’d fight for Asia if I lived in Georgia. That would be the easier route to success vs navigating thru all of the insanely fast Europeans. That’s the hardest division IMO. Seems to be so many players that actually participate in this kind of stuff from that area and all seem to be fast.
Whereas in North America, there’s a lot of active and quick drivers from the US that just won’t try it. I’ve been trying to get friends to join but I doubt they will. The amount of hours it takes to put into this seems to be a big issue. I only recognize one D class lobby vet so far in the registration.
This may not matter all that much. If the MLG tourney is a good benchmark, many fast players from NA will miss or skip out on some of the races or rivals events.
Racing occurs around same time people take vacations or have final exams in college. For example I’m going on a week long vacation the last week of may. If I don’t accrue enough points before then, I’m out.
In the MLG tourney you had good but not elite players get higher seeds and some elite players getting mid pack seeds, lows seeds, or DNQs. You also had players sneak in the top 16 that theoretically shouldn’t. I know I squeaked in after missing a few events and upset the higher seed 1st round battle.
I can’t wait. Still no change in the f.gf.net site. Still nothing in game. Still no idea what ringing is.
Add me as a friend if you want a rival in the '82.
Ringing means to let someone else either play for your team but he isn´t part of it OR let someone else play as you in the tournament (part of faking also).
I’m wondering how selections to finals will work since many will play both rivals and races and will qualify for finals both ways. Does the top X come from rivals, then top X from divisions excluding those who already made it via rivals? Or is it the other way around?
